Are you a passionate and motivated Software Developer seeking a fulfilling career in the defense industry? We are looking for a skilled Software Engineer with embedded development experience to join our Space and RF Sensors team at Raytheon in Fort Wayne, IN.

What You Will Do:
Design, develop, test, and maintain software for aerospace and defense applications, ensuring robust functionality and reliability.
Analyze and translate system requirements into detailed software specifications and designs.
Implement, test, and debug software solutions to meet project requirements and quality standards.
Collaborate with systems engineering, hardware engineering, and cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration and optimal system performance.
Participate in code reviews, testing procedures, and continuous improvement efforts to enhance software quality and development practices.
Document software designs, test results, and troubleshooting processes for future reference.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, with 2+ years of professional experience, or a Master’s degree with 0-2 years of experience.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Java, Python or other computer languages.
Understanding of Object-Oriented Design (OOD) principles and practices.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with software development life cycles, including Agile methodologies.
Experience with software testing and debugging tools.
Experience using version control tools like Git.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Experience with Linux and/or real-time embedded systems such vxWorks or Integrity.
Knowledge of DevOps and DevSecOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines and secure software development methodologies.
Experience leveraging Generative AI and Machine Learning to improve productivity, collaboration, and performance
Familiarity with gRPC and Protobufs
Familiarity with Open Systems Architectures and modular design principles.
Understanding of cybersecurity principles and secure coding practices.
Active U.S. government security clearance (if required for the role).

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
