About the role:

To analyse and design training solutions that enable Type 31 personnel to achieve operational and workplace performance requirements in alignment with Royal Navy standards, equipment capability requirements, and DSAT-compliant processes.

Skills and Experience

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills at all levels both internally and within the customer organisation.
  • Experience in training design and have contributed to the design of significant training courses.
  • A good working knowledge of the training design process (DSAT / ADDIE).
  • Experienced and capable of working autonomously and within a team.

Desirable

  • Experience in the use of programme management tools and applications.

Responsibilities

  • Work as a member of a team responsible for the analysis and design of training documentation for military training establishments and organisations.
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis (TNA) in accordance with a recognised systems approach to training (DSAT (JSP 822) or ADDIE).
  • Identify any gaps between current and required performance for Type 31-specific roles.
  • Liaise with Equipment Design Authorities, OEMs, System Engineers, Subject Matter Experts, and Training Managers to translate technical publications and system documentation into measurable training requirements.
  • Participate in internal workshops to discuss and agree findings from analysis.
  • Produce, maintain, or update training design documentation and content including but not limited to Formal Training Statements, Assessment Strategies, Assessment Specifications, Learning Specifications, Training Objectives, Enabling Objectives, and Key Learning Points.
  • Record and manage outputs using approved DSAT templates and TAFMIS entries.
  • Engage with Team Fisher partners to determine suitable training modalities and delivery environments (e.g., classroom, synthetic, blended).
  • Maintain traceability between analysis data (requirements) and design outputs (solutions).

Work Culture

  • 37hr working week, although hours may vary depending on role, job requirement or site-specific arrangements.

  • A grownup flexible working culture that is output, not time spent at desk, focussed. More formal flexible working arrangements can also be requested and assessed subject to the role.
