ABOUT ROCKET LAB

Our Space Systems business designs and builds our extensive line of satellites, payloads, and their components, including spacecraft that have been selected to support NASA missions to the Moon and Mars and components used on the James Webb Space Telescope.
IT
Rocket Lab’s IT team is responsible for how our global teams access information and run operations across our computer systems, networks, and devices. Our hardworking IT team is a group of flexible problem-solvers working in a fast-paced environment but who also thrive under the challenge of supporting all of our proprietary systems and people, from finance to launch operations.
FINANCIAL SYSTEMS ANALYST I
Based onsite at Rocket Lab’s headquarters in Long Beach, CA the financial systems analyst will work closely with Finance, Accounting, FP&A, and Enterprise Information Systems (EIS) teams to assist in maintaining, optimizing, and supporting business systems that drive operational efficiency and scalable growth. The ideal candidate has a basic understanding of accounting/finance processes, technical systems, and data analysis, with a strong desire to learn and grow in bridging business needs with system capabilities. You will collaborate with other Business Analysts, as well as the Business Systems and IT Operations teams, and frequently interact with other departments to ensure business processes align with stable, efficient technical systems.
WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:
- Assist in providing technical and functional support for financial systems, including troubleshooting, system enhancements, and user training.
- Learn and develop expertise in financial systems such as Infor LN ERP, OneStream, Adaptive Insights, and other tools.
- Collaborate with Accounting, FP&A, and other finance teams to ensure systems meet business needs and processes.
- Support the GL accounting structure and assist in ensuring accurate financial reporting and statement generation.
- Help streamline workflows, improve data accuracy, and enhance reporting capabilities using finance tools.
- Respond to stakeholder feedback and assist in resolving system-related issues in a timely manner.
- Participate in system upgrades, implementations, and integrations under the guidance of senior team members.
- Utilize SQL and T-SQL to extract, analyze, and manipulate data for reporting and system optimization (training provided as needed).
- Work with cross-functional teams, including IT, Accounting, and FP&A, to deliver solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Assist in managing small-scale projects related to financial systems, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with objectives.
YOU’LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience (4+ years of work experience).
- Basic understanding of ERP systems.
- Familiarity with GL accounting structures, financial statements, and FP&A processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:
- 2+ years of experience in financial systems support, implementation, or development (internships or academic projects may count).
- Experience with LN ERP, OneStream, or Adaptive Insights.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on learning and delivering practical solutions.
- Exposure to financial system integrations or upgrades.
- Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tools.
- Basic knowledge of SQL or T-SQL (training available).
- Interest in Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Desire to pursue professional certifications in LN ERP, OneStream, or Adaptive Insights.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
- Regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, operate computer keyboard and controls, and communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must be physically able to commute to buildings.
- Occasional exposure to dust, fumes and moderate levels of noise.
Level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
