Role Overview
We are seeking a highly execution-driven leader to structure, build, and operationalize multiple NewCos. These companies will typically be formed around assets or teams transitioning from another geography, institution, or parent organization. This role is responsible for turning scientific assets into operationally disciplined, financing-ready biotech companies. This individual will architect repeatable company-build frameworks, manage cross-border transitions, and ensure each NewCo launches with strong program governance, operational rigor, and Board-ready reporting. This is a high-accountability role at the intersection of company creation, program execution, and strategic operations.
Core Mandate
For each NewCo:
- Structure the build
- Execute asset/team transition
- Establish operating discipline
- Implement program management frameworks
- Drive vendor and development execution
- Ensure financing readiness
- Ensure cross-company visibility and milestone tracking
Key Responsibilities
1. NewCo Formation & Transition Execution
- Lead operational structuring of 1-3 NewCos in parallel
-Drive asset and data transition (IP, preclinical data, regulatory documentation, contracts). Coordinate geographic transitions (team, vendor, regulatory alignment). Ensure clean legal and contractual handoffs in coordination with outside counsel. Stand up initial governance and operating processes.
2. Program & Portfolio Infrastructure
- Establish program management framework within each NewCo:
Integrated timelines
Budget visibility
Cross-functional milestone tracking
Risk dashboards
Align development plans with financing and value-inflection milestones
Ensure consistent reporting cadence across companies
Create portfolio-level visibility across all active projects
3. Vendor & External Network Governance
- Structure and manage CRO, CDMO, and lab engagements
- Standardize vendor selection, onboarding, and performance tracking
- Drive accountability and cost control across external partners
- Ensure development plans translate into executable vendor scopes
4. Operations & Executive Support (Embedded Chief of Staff Function)
- Structure executive team meetings and action tracking
- Support Board preparation and milestone reporting
- Coordinate goal setting and risk tracking
- Implement governance and decision-making clarity
- Track contract execution and key obligations
5. Data Integrity & Financing Readiness
- Build and maintain diligence-ready data rooms. Ensure clean documentation, version control, and traceability
- Support external narrative development (website, positioning)
- Support BD and financing processes across the portfolio
Profile
Required
- 8–10+ years in biotech program leadership, operations, or company build roles
- Experience with asset transfers, spin-outs, or cross-border transitions
- Deep understanding of early drug development (preclinical → clinical)
- Experience managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Strong operational systems mindset
- Comfort working across geographies and cultures
Highly Preferred
- Experience in venture-backed biotech formation
- Experience with academic or pharma spin-outs
- Exposure to corporate development or transactions
- Experience building processes from zero

The base salary range reflects our good faith estimate at the time of posting. Final compensation will depend on factors like experience, skills, and location. The role may also be eligible for an annual bonus and long-term incentives. Compensation and benefits may be updated in the future.
