Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics sector (NGAS) is hiring a Supplier Quality Manager 3 to join our team within the Mission Assurance (MA) Organization. This position will report to the Supplier Quality Director in the Mission Assurance Functional Home Room and will lead our Supplier Quality Field Operations and our Supplier Quality teams located at assigned manufacturing sites. This leadership opportunity will be located at a major NGAS site: Palmdale, CA, El Segundo, CA, Melbourne, FL, St Augustine, FL.
The Supplier Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring supplier process and product quality, including contractual, regulatory, and technical compliance. This position shall serve as a communication conduit between the supplier(s) organization and the NGAS Mission Assurance, Global Supply Chain and other relevant stakeholders.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Collaborate with Program Supplier Quality (SQ) leadership to ensure Field Engineer and site resource demands support the Supplier Quality strategy and meet Program expectations.
Ensure staffing levels support current demands and engage with SQ and MA leadership to prepare for future demands.
Ensure comprehensive data driven Supplier Surveillance plans are generated and implemented across the NGAS Supply base.
Actively participate in Supplier performance reviews, collaborating with SQ leadership teams to identify and drive SQ actions to closure.
Ensure adequacy and effectiveness of Supplier audits
Assist key suppliers in the resolution of significant issues that are and/or are likely to have a business-wide impact by working cross functionally with engineering, quality, procurement, program team members and operations leadership.
Address risks and opportunities across multiple programs and update stakeholders
Ability to effectively engage, communicate and develop strong business relationships with all levels of leadership and professionals within the supplier(s) organization, internal customers and stakeholders to coordinate and partner on improvement programs/actions to achieve and sustain high levels of performance.
Takes appropriate actions ensuring supplier performance, including proactively driving corrective actions when necessary to maintain commitments to internal and external customer(s).
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree and 9+ years' of Supplier Quality / Supplier Management relevant experience OR a Master’s Degree and 7+ years of relevant experience
7+ years of experience as team lead and/or manager of people including working in a cross-functional environment
Experience working with engineering, manufacturing, global supply chain, quality or program management to collaborate and drive performance
Rigorous knowledge of metrics, performance tracking, and data integrity
High level of proficiency in SAP, MS Office suite, SharePoint, or similar digital tools
Ability to obtain and maintain US Govt clearance and special program access based on business needs
Preferred Qualifications
Active DoD Secret Clearance
Experience in managing leaders of teams located in multiple states, sites and regions of the US.
Experience in managing a broad range of suppliers including providers of complex components/assemblies/systems, services, and commodities
Ability to assess a supplier’s factory operational model and walk a manufacturing line/process
Experience in conducting Root Cause and Corrective Action, Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis and related evaluation tools/processes
Ability to develop strategic plans and transition to strategy deployment
Thorough understanding of Govt FAR/DFARs, Purchase Order Terms and Conditions, Quality flow downs
Strong project management skills, with a proven ability to manage quickly shifting priorities, requirements and overlapping deadlines

Palmdale, CA, El Segundo, CA Salary Range; $175,400 - $262,300
Melbourne, FL, St Augustine, FL Salary Range; $151,500.00 – $227,300
Primary Level Salary Range: $151,500.00 - $262,300.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
