Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.The Northrop Grumman (NG) Human Resources organization is seeking a Strategic Career Development Advisor to join the Enterprise Critical Skills Development (CSD) team.
This position will be primarily located in Falls Church, VA, however, we will consider virtual telecommuters, or candidates working at any other major NG location.
CSD delivers development resources to the global NGC workforce through 3 primary activities:
Understanding the company’s current & future technical development needs
Defining, developing, and deploying strategic content and programs
Ensuring resources are accessible and relevant to all users
In support of this mission, CSD provides thought leadership, strategic design, and enterprise execution of talent development solutions
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced HR professional who will act as a strategic advisor to leadership for career pathing development and to drive change initiatives that support the evolution of our career talent development framework to a skill-based approach. The role will also be responsible for ensuring seamless adoption of all resources related to career navigation, development plans and skill assessments for our critical skill roles.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with leadership to design skill‑based career resources that support our development programs.
Serve as the liaison between sector stakeholders to align on goals and resources for critical skill navigation and skill assessments.
Support the external partnership cohort-based learning solutions as part of our Educational Assistance program.
Lead change management initiatives that support our critical skill career framework to demonstrate our commitment to critical skill development and career pathing.
Oversee new career navigation activities, development plan, and skill assessment to ensure integration with new HR technologies.
Provide ongoing HR subject matter expertise to key stakeholders for the development of new skill‑based career resources.
What Success Looks Like
A skill-based career‑pathing framework for critical skill roles with standardized resources and roadmaps is implemented across the enterprise.
High adoption at every level (HR, leaders, managers, employees) that demonstrates strong engagement and utilization of our resources.
The career navigation, development‑plan, and skill‑assessment strategies iterate with ongoing SME support to ensure we are supporting role readiness in critical skill areas of highest need.
Basic Qualifications
8 Years of relevant HR professional experience with a Bachelor's degree; 6 Years with Master's; 4 Years with PhD.
Demonstrated experience developing, leading and assessing integrated talent development solutions
Ability to collaborate, lead, and build rapport across all levels of the organization to include creating executive-ready PowerPoint decks for C-suite level executives
Familiarity with change management approaches when implementing large scale initiatives
Preferred Qualifications
Worked in/around the technical & functional domains we support (e.g., Systems Engineering, Software, Manufacturing, Program Management, Business Development)
Prior experience in HR business partner role or leading talent development programs
Strategic thinking with AI insights along with AI ethics and data-privacy awareness
