The Northrop Grumman Classified Solutions team is seeking a highly experienced Senior Windows Systems Administrator to join its dynamic team of technical professionals. The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Aeronautics Systems support team in El Segundo, CA.

Note: Due to the classified nature of the work being performed, this position does not offer any virtual or telecommute working options. Applicants are encouraged to apply, only if they are willing to work on-site.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Perform as a Windows System Administrator for a classified government contract.

  • Develop computer systems specifications that address business requirements and that fit with the company's system architecture standards.

  • Establish and document system parameters and formats, esnure hardware and software systems compatibility and coordinate and/or modify system parameters in terms of existing and projected computer capacity and capabilities.

  • Revise existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling, conversion, input/output requirements, and storage.

  • Write scripts, build systems, collaborate with security teams for system certifications.

  • Support for installations, configuration, and troubleshooting using Cohesity backup.

  • Install, configure, and support of virtualized environments (Broadcom/VMware & Dell VxRail)

  • Server rack and stack, decommissioning server hardware, touch labor for Broadcom/VMware, Windows, and Linux servers.

  • Support security audits, obtain new system approvals, and work with security teams.

  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues across multiple platforms.

  • Work with IT hardware and data center electrical /HVAC and Cohesity vendors for installations, configuration, troubleshooting, and technician service visits.

  • West coast specific network and data center support including planning meetings and on-site POC for facilities outages and maintenance (power and chillers).

  • Lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.

  • Work after hours, and weekends, as needed.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree with 6 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience; OR an Associate's Degree with 10 years of relevant experience; OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 12 years of relevant experience is required

  • Must have a DOD 8140 security certification (Security+ or higher)

  • Candidates must have a current DOD Secret level security clearance (at a minimum) in order to be considered 

  • Candidates must have the ability to obtain, and maintain, access to Special Programs as a condition of employment

  • Experience managing Windows Server OS

  • Experience with designing Windows domain architectures, including but not limited to Active Directory, GPOs, Policies, and permissions

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology

  • Active Top Secret, TS/SCI, Polygraph, or SAP/SAR access would be nice to have

  • MCSE (or similar) Microsoft certification

  • 10 years of Windows Server Administration to include VMWare, Active Directory, and Group Policy in a classified environment

  • Experience with JIRA, Open Shift, Kubernetes, Cloud operations, and/or Omnissa/Horizon View VDI

  • Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments

  • Understanding of basic networking, including subnets, routing, and VLANs; Cisco experience and/or certification

  • Creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining computer hardware in a networked environment

  • Windows server management experience

  • Windows AD, LDAP, VMWare, and knowledge of SAN storage systems.

  • Linux Operating System experience and/or certification for current versions

  • Red Hat certification for current version

  • VMWare experience with current version

  • Knowledge of environmental monitoring tools (HBSS/Solar Winds/Splunk).

  • Mid to Advanced level Scripting experience

  • Experience with the creation and deployment of system images in an enterprise environment

  • Experience with Certification & Accreditation process

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
