Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Mission Systems has an opportunity available for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer-Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. This position will be located in Baltimore, MD, specifically in support of the Advanced Tactical Program (ATP) EPI portfolio.
What You'll Get To Do:
This individual will lead a cross-discipline engineering team, manage the largest cost account on one of the largest programs at NGMS, and interface with Engineering & Program Management. The selected candidates will perform in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and collaborative/team settings. The selected candidate is expected to be self-motivated, highly-organized, and detail oriented and possess effective verbal and written communication skills.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Lead and direct cross-functional engineering teams during the EMD phase
- Lead staffing efforts for each team, ensuring appropriate skill mix and coverage
- Plan and coordinate bench time priorities across engineering program initiatives
- Manage and maintain Jira boards to track progress and issues, documenting and resolving blockers impacting team performance
- Develop and execute to project budgets and schedules, including Earned Value Management System (EVMS), critical path management, Estimates-at-Completion (EACs), and workload forecasts
- Maintain and communicate capability delivery schedules
- Support proposal development and new program acquisition efforts
- Interpret statements of work assigned by program leadership
- Work with suppliers and be able to articulate project requirements
- Brief internal and external customer leadership on progress of work assigned
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 8 years related experience or Master's Degree in STEM and a minimum of 6 years related experience.
- Must have an active/current Secret clearance. Clearance is required to start. Must be able to obtain special program access to start. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance and program access for continued employment.
- 2 years of demonstrated experience of radar mode or software development
- 2 years experience as Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, Technical lead, or other leadership role in a program office or business function with demonstrated team building, organizational, and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience as a Control Account Manager (CAM) managing Earned Value Management System (EVMS) projects
- Experience working on an EMD program as a systems or software engineer
- Fluency with developing and executing project schedules
- Experience with Atlassian tool suite
- Proficient in using advance MS Excel macros, functions, and pivots
- Active and current Top Secret government clearance
