Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history.Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector has an opening for a Sr. Principal Engineer Systems Architect to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne, Florida.
The candidate will serve as the Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) team lead, responsible for establishing a clear vision for the Systems Engineering Model through collaborating with the Chief Architect and Systems Engineering leads to design and develop system architecture solutions utilizing MBSE methods, while mentoring junior MBSE engineers to drive consistency in model development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the U.S. Navy to drive agreement and establish goals for model development.
- Utilize expertise in Cameo to ensure effective model governance, including model federation.
- Establish and communicate a clear vision for the model, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
- Promote consistency in model development by implementing and enforcing rulesets and a comprehensive style guide.
- Build and enhance tools and views in Cameo to enforce data input and model integration behavior, articulating the rationale behind these processes.
- Guide the modeling approach by defining the appropriate use of activity diagrams, sequence diagrams, and exporting requirements from DOORS to Cameo.
- Think pragmatically about establishing processes while remaining open to continuous improvement and adaptation.
- Demonstrate experience with iterative approaches, such as Agile Systems Engineering, to enhance model development practices.
- Generate and present material to support internal and external customer briefings
Basic Qualifications (Sr Principal Level):
- Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) discipline AND 8 years of related professional/military experience, OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 6 years of related professional/military experience, OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 4 year of related professional/military experience.
- Must have experience developing model-based systems engineering products in Cameo
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active SAP
- Experience with DOORS
- Experience with Atlassian Tool Suite and Cameo Enterprise Architecture modeling for system design
- Experience demonstrating concepts to management and customers
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret clearance
