Northrop Grumman Space Systems, Multi-Domain Operations, Missile Defense Integration Business Unit (BU) has an exciting career opportunity for a Software Engineer – Level 2 to support the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program. We are excited for you to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals. Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the missile defense industry. The position is in Huntsville, AL.

Position Overview:

The selected Software Engineer – Level 2 responsibilities will include the support of the Ground Weapons System (GWS) program as an individual contributor on the SPA SIM team. This role is responsible for developing SW products that directly support the design and development of the GWS capability on behalf of the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/teams comprised of all experience levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 2 years of relevant work experience; or a Masters Degree in STEM and 0-2 years of work experience.

  • Demonstrated C++ development experience

  • Experience with Unit Test and System Test Development

  • Experience with C, GoLang, ADA, and/or Python

  • Ability to read other coding languages

  • Individual must possess good communication skills.

  • Candidate must demonstrate ability to think critically and capture concepts in work products, presentations, and discussions.

  • Capable of working both independently and within a team environment.

  • Applicants must have a current active in-scope U.S. Government DoD issued Secret security clearance at the time of application which is required to start.

  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time to support business needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with simulation and simulation frameworks

  • Experience with Jira/Confluence/Bitbucket

  • Experience with Bamboo, Jenkins, Fortify, Coverity, SQL Databases

  • Knowledge of GMD

  • Experience with containers and container development

Primary Level Salary Range: $87,600.00 - $131,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
