Position is located in Melbourne, FL.
This exciting position offers the opportunity to directly design, develop and integrate software for an Integrated Simulation Architecture Framework to enable improved continuous development, integration, testing and configuration management of models and simulations (M&S).
The Software Engineer will develop, modify and maintain customized or standardized applications using software engineering best practices and standards, and participate in the full life-cycle of software development, to include requirements development, modeling and design, application development, unit to CSCI testing, integration, formal system testing, release, installation, and maintenance. The candidate will interface on occasion with the customer and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills are essential.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) with 8 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master’s degree in STEM with 6 years of related engineering experience; OR a PHD in STEM with 4 year of related engineering experience
- Experience in Air Vehicle simulation, Math, Physics, or Control Algorithms
- Experience developing software / writing code in C and/or C++
- Must have an active DoD Secret (or higher) clearance (with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrolled into Continuous Evaluation)
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math, or Physics
- Current program access (PAR)
- Current program experience
- Control Dynamics experience
- Experience in a modeling and simulation environment
- Experience in a laboratory environment
- Experience in real time software development
- Familiarity with Atlassian Tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Crucible, Bamboo)
- Familiarity with Agile software development process
- Experience with Python
- Experience with VxWorks, Red Hat Linux, and/or Windows Software Development
- Experience with Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS Protocol) and/or ARINC-610
