If so, Defense Systems wants you to join our team as a Quality Engineer on our diverse team. This position is fulltime, on-site in Warner Robins, Georgia. You will join the Quality and Mission Assurance organization supporting the APN-241 Program. The Quality and Mission Assurance organization is chartered with providing the skills and experience required to support a robust Quality Management System designed to ensure products and services meet or exceed internal and external customer requirements and promote mission success. You will define and monitor mission assurance program specifications and processes to ensure mission success.
Responsibilities:
- Able to conduct/support internal process evaluations and develop process evaluation reports.
- Ensures that performance and quality products conform to established company and regulatory standards through execution of scheduled and unscheduled audits.
- Develop, collect, and track metrics for process health and performance monitoring.
- Develop, modify, apply, and maintain quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished products.
- Collaborates with engineering, manufacturing, and other functions to ensure quality standards are in place and to resolve issues.
- Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing, and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
- Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
- Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards, and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
- Responsible for updating Quality and Mission Assurance (QMA) plans/procedures.
- Works with and provide support with our quality assurance inspection group.
- Promptly responds to technical issues that arise on the production floor utilizing work instructions, design documents, and specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprint and engineering drawings and be able to document non-conformances.
- Work with the Engineering team to ensure that part requirements are correctly described and documented in the production work plans.
- Provide oversight in discrepancy review and failure investigations as well as root cause and corrective action determinations. Analyze and interpret trends and execute improvements on key metrics.
- Represent Mission Assurance at various program reviews and review boards that may include but are not limited to Software Review Board (SRB), Configuration Control Board (CCB), Failure Review Board (FRB), Program Management Reviews (PMR), Safety Review Board (SRB), Software Peer Reviews, Test Readiness Reviews (TRR), and Corrective Action Board (CAB).
This is a fast-paced work environment with diverse assignments. We do most of our work on the production floor, and we collaborate closely with technicians, manufacturing/process engineers, operation managers, and customers. We're a small group and a close-knit team.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related STEM field with a minimum of 2 years of industry experience (quality, auditing, manufacturing, engineering) or 0 year of experience with a master’s degree.
- Able to read documentation such as contractual standards, program plans, statement of work, requirements, software specs, test plans/procedures and software test reports. Individual should be able to interpret requirements for testability and clarity, software escapes, develop audit plans, and identify critical software non-conformances.
- Experience with Quality Management Systems (e.g., AS9100, ISO 9001, etc.).
- Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action methods.
- Ability to read and interpret drawings.
- Efficient at MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other office systems.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- US Citizenship Required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 trained auditor.
- Experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems and/or Teamcenter.
- Experience conducting internal audits (AS9100, In-Process, Factory Accountability)
- Active DOD Secret Security Clearance.
- Aerospace and Defense Industry experience
