Northrop Grumman Aeronautic Systems has an opening for a Principal/Sr. Principal Structural Analysis Engineer to join our team of qualified diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale or El Segundo, CA and is assigned to 1st shift 9/80 schedule. Primary function is structural modification stress analysis and manufacturing engineering supporting a high paced development effort.
We are looking for an engineer who analyzes, researches and develops structural engineering specifications involving metals, non-metallic or composite structural materials for product design. Analyzes damage tolerance, durability of metal and composite airframe structures. Knowledge of random vibration analysis. Tools utilized may include Catia, FEMAP, Patran, Nastran and a variety of software applications.
In this role, you will be providing stress analysis for primary and secondary structure. Reviewing completed analyses, drawings, and repairs for accuracy, clarity, and completeness. Must have coordination and clear communication with other disciplines during the development of design solutions. Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives. Maintain and improve part designs, equipment, and systems in support of production deliveries. Developing solutions to difficult problems that are thorough, imaginative, practical, and consistent with program objectives. Evaluation of as built products for conformity to standards, procedures, and specifications. Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.

Basic Qualifications for Principal:
• Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 5 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Engineering, OR a Master's degree AND 3 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Engineering}, OR a Ph.D. AND 1 years of related professional/military experience to include a background in Engineering.
• Experience in Bonded Composite Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures.
• Experience in Metallic Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures
• Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.
• Experience using PATRAN, or FEMAP.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.

• Experience in Metallic Structural Analysis of primary and secondary aircraft structures
• Experience in Structural Analysis Methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Current US Government Secret or Top Secret Clearance / SCI
• Current Program Access
• Experience working on Special Access Programs
• Experience working on military aircraft
Primary Level Salary Range: $114,000.00 - $171,000.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $142,200.00 - $213,400.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
