Northrop Grumman Enterprise Services is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator. This role can be performed by a level 1 or level 2 (entry level or early career). This position is located in Redondo Beach, CA or Rolling Meadows, IL, and will be 100% onsite.
Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:
Installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining Linux workstations and servers.
Installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management of systems.
Developing and documenting technical processes and procedures as needed.
Collaborating with other teams: users, network engineers, cybersecurity and IT management.
Participate in special projects and team initiatives
Reviewing trouble ticket queues to identify issues that need to be addressed.
Working through the ticket queue without intervening management direction (self-motivated).
Establishing and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Exhibiting good communication skills, an energetic approach, and patience with customers.
Work is reviewed for soundness of technical judgment, overall adequacy and accuracy.
Lifting equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.

Basic Qualifications for a Level 1:
Must have a relevant Bachelors Degree with 0 years of experience OR an Associates Degree with 2 years of relevant experience OR a High School Diploma with 4 years of relevant experience.
Academic Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar.
Must be able to obtain a DoD 8570 IAM Level 1 certification (CGRC, GSLC, or Security+ CE) within 6 months.
Candidates must have an active DOD Secret level security clearance
Basic Qualifications for a Level 2:
Must have a relevant Masters Degree with 0 years of experience OR relevant Bachelors Degree with 2 years of experience OR an Associates Degree with 4 years of relevant experience OR a High School Diploma with 6 years of relevant experience.
1 year of experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux or similar.
Must be able to obtain a DoD 8570 IAM Level 1 certification (CGRC, GSLC, or Security+ CE) within 6 months.
Candidates must have an active DOD Secret level security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Have a current DoD 8570 IAM Level 1
Linux Certification (ex. RedHat, CompTIA, LPIC, etc.)
Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, STIG, JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments
Knowledge of running and remediating Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) findings on RHEL systems
Knowledge of Logical Volume Management (LVM) in creating/administrating local storage volumes
Supporting RHEL Satellite Server (ex. import/export patches, sync repos)
Rudimentary Scripting experience with Bash and/or Ansible
Knowledge of Windows Active Directory and VMWare ESXi
Knowledge of enterprise monitoring tools (Trellix/SolarWinds/Splunk)
