Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Engineer Tool to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
Duties Include:
Coordination of design and fabrication requirements for tools and fixtures with customers, both internal and external
Coordinate/develop & execute test plans
Performing tolerance analysis to ensure form/fit/function
Conduct root cause failure investigations and implement associated corrective actions
Develop & evaluate process improvements
Assist Product Development Team with new product designs to ensure manufacturability, validate process/technology.
Developing manufacturing processes, plans, and procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment in support of our process work instructions and visual aids of our shop planning process and other functions that affect product performance.
Managing all phases of project: design, document, fabricate, assemble, and validate.
The TE shall work with internal/external customers, and colleagues to ensure that the design meets the customer needs and see it through each phase of the engineering process (Design, Fabrication, and Implementation).
In addition, it is essential that this person have the ability to mentor less experienced engineers, work autonomously and in a team environment, adapt to processes and company policy while providing input or methods of process/design innovation.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM (Science, Technical, Engineering, Mathematical) with 2 years of experience OR Master's Degree in STEM with 0 years of experience.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret and PAR within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs. US citizen required for clearance.
Excellent time management skills for working within established production timelines and schedules
This position requires having the ability to communicate with various levels of leadership
Preferred Qualifications:
All Basic Requirements AND
Active DOD Clearance and PAR
Composite experience and process knowledge
Direct Tool design experience of medium to large scale tooling
Direct Aerospace Tooling experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $83,400.00 - $125,200.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
