Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is looking for you to join our team as an Electromechanical Engineer based in Salt Lake City, UT.
The Electromechanical Engineer applies electrical, electronic and mechanical principles to components and systems, including assembly, analysis, and documentation of results; construction of developmental assemblies, sub-assemblies and components; and quality testing. Supports and participates in the design, test, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems.
What you will get to do:
Design, develop, and implement manufacturing methods and assembly instructions.
Implement Lean manufacturing techniques that are applicable to statistical process control across manufacturing environments.
Work closely with production floor supervisors, technicians, operators, and other engineering disciplines to support day-to-day activities.
Train technicians and operators on manufacturing techniques and procedures.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions on process failures.
Analysis of manufacturing yields and trends to identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
Interpret engineering drawings and recommend design changes to ease product manufacturability.
Provide recommendations and justification for new tooling and equipment.
Working with suppliers to ensure quality and conformance to specifications.

Possess strong written and oral communication.
Have strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.
Basic Qualifications for the Electromechanical Engineer:
Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or related STEM discipline with a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
Experience working in a manufacturing facility.
Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
US citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications for the Electromechanical Engineer:
Experience with data analysis software (Tableau, Matlab, Python, Excel, or others).
Experience with SolidWorks or equivalent software.
Experience interpreting mechanical drawings, GD&T knowledge.
Experience using Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing concepts.
- Experience working in a highly regulated industry with strict customer/process requirements.
Experience implementing tools/processes to improve operator/production efficiency.
Hands-on manufacturing experience in assembly and fabrication.
SAP experience.
