Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems Sector is searching for a DevOps Staff Software Engineer to join the Joint All Domain Command and Control (JADC2) Directorate in our Research and Advanced Design (R&AD) Division in support of R&D activities spanning multiple sectors The location for this opportunity is Melbourne, Florida and will be primarily based within our office spaces to support program and business needs. Operating on our 9/80 schedule means you will get every other Friday off. The position does not have remote or Hybrid work available .
The DIPN IPAT O&M Platform Engineer provides cradle to grave life cycle support of integrated applications through continuous updates and refinements of delivered software and systems utilizing modern DevSecOps and automation practices.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high availability
- Maintain and troubleshoot networking components, including VLANs, firewalls, switches, and routers
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, software, servers, and hardware.
- Deploy, manage, and support virtualized environments (e.g. VMware, Hyper-V, or other hypervisors)
- Implement and manage core infrastructure services (e.g., DNS, DHCP, NAS, and Active Directory) Setup an overall Cloud-native Software Factory
- Manage and improve container orchestration and deployment strategies
- Support programs with integration and deployment automation in a cloud enabled environment
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 12 years’ relevant experience, or STEM master’s degree with 10 years’ relevant experience, or a STEM PHD with 8 years’ relevant experience.

- Experience in establishing, maintaining, and growing CI/CD pipelines and supporting infrastructure
- Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated government Secret clearance, and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills
- Strong experience in establishing, maintaining, and growing DevSecOps resources
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with widely dispersed team members
- Strong desire for automation and a track record of flexibility in work roles
- Strong desire for experience with Hashicorp enterprise solutions
- Integrates a variety of familiar and unfamiliar technologies into orchestrated solutions.
- Analyzes gaps in technology solutions and designs paths to close them.
- Follows directions provided by the team leaders in implementation and scope.
- Develops and follows installation, integration, and test procedures.
- Automates manual procedures.
- Documents procedures in clear and unambiguous manner.
- Demonstrates work to a variety of audiences.
- Participates in and contributes to the team's Agile ceremonies, including daily scrum, Sprint and Program Increment planning, and retrospective meetings.
- Helps teammates to achieve success in their tasking.
- Reviews work and provides actionable feedback to teammates.
