Join our Insights & Intelligence (i2) organization to launch your career within the high-impact field of People Analytics. This role is a prime opportunity for an individual with a passion for learning Workday business processes and translating complex Human Resources (HR) data into insights. You will be instrumental in maintaining our HR data marts while ensuring there is secure data available for strategic decision making.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop a strong understanding of Qualtric’s and Workday's core business processes and how changes in these processes directly impact data structures and downstream analytics.
- Focus on ensuring data quality and integrity for sensitive HR data. Work with other senior HR data engineers to define and validate key data fields from Workday, ensuring compliance and security standards are met.
- Code, test, and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using Python and SQL within the Databricks environment.
- Assist senior engineers in implementing foundational data models (e.g., employee dimensions, fact tables) that power analytical dashboards and support statistical analysis.
- Adhere strictly to defined standards for security and governance, paying close attention to the sensitivity of employee PII data.
- Support code reviews for members of People Analytics
*This role can be supported by a level 2 (early career) or level 3 (mid-career) Data Engineer.
Basic Qualifications for a level 2:
- Must have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Must have, at minimum, 2 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or software development.
- Must be proficient in SQL and Python.
- Must have experience with Workday and the underlying data and structures.
- Must have excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to translate technical concepts and data requirements for non-technical partners (HR/Analysts).

- Must have, at minimum, a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Must have, at minimum, 5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or software development.
- Must be proficient in SQL and Python.
- Must have experience with Workday and the underlying data and structures.
- Must have excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to translate technical concepts and data requirements for non-technical partners (HR/Analysts).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and writing unit tests for data transformation code.
- Experience with handling and implementing data governance and security as they relate to Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
- Experience working with Human Resources stakeholders and teams.
