Role Summary

The Staff AI Solutions Delivery Lead is a cross-functional role focused on driving AI adoption, solution identification, and delivery coordination for internal customers across the Defense Systems (DS) Sector. The role balances elements of product and solution management, program coordination, and stakeholder engagement to ensure AI initiatives advance both sector outcomes and business process improvements.  Armed with a strong understanding of the AI landscape, enterprise AI capabilities, governance, and delivery models, the successful candidate will coordinate and guide AI initiatives in alignment with DS and enterprise priorities. This role is ideal for a professional who excels at bridging business operational needs with emerging AI capabilities, translating demand into actionable solutions, and enabling successful adoption of AI products that drive efficiency and strategic value across the organization.

This role may be performed at one of the following facilities: McLean, Virginia, Huntsville, Alabama, Elkton, MD or Beavercreek, Ohio and offers a virtual hybrid arrangement as long as candidates can commit to working at one of these locations on a consistent basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal customers, driving AI solution identification, prioritization, and delivery coordination aligned to evolving business and mission needs.

  • Engage with internal stakeholders to understand AI capability needs, define use cases, requirements, success metrics, and target delivery timelines.

  • Capture, manage, and communicate AI demand to enterprise and sector AI teams to support solution evaluation, prioritization, and resourcing decisions.

  • Act as an AI liaison across DS initiatives, bridging internal customers, DS technical teams, and enterprise AI organizations.

  • Collaborate with DS teams, AI/ML users, and dotted-line managers to develop and maintain a DS AI strategy, catalog, and roadmap, aligned with enterprise AI strategy.

  • Share awareness of enterprise AI platforms, services, and governance, helping internal customers understand available capabilities and appropriate usage.

  • Manage expectations across multiple concurrent initiatives, aligning timelines, dependencies, resources, and technical priorities.

  • Clearly articulate AI concepts, tradeoffs, risks, and outcomes to both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Support AI governance, program/project management, and product lifecycle activities to ensure solutions are delivered on time and within scope.

  • Develop and maintain a DS High-Performance Computing (HPC) roadmap in support of AI and advanced analytics needs.

  • Stay current on emerging AI trends, technologies, and best practices, helping stakeholders understand realistic applications and outcomes.

 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related discipline).

  • Minimum of 12 years of experience in customer-facing delivery, solutions/product management, program management, or stakeholder coordination within AI-enabled or technology-driven environments.

  • Demonstrated ability to partner effectively with internal customers and translate needs into AI solution strategies and delivery plans.

  • Solid understanding of AI fundamentals and applications, including benefits, risks, limitations, and tradeoffs across mission and business use cases.

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance following a reasonable amount of time after hire.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe, or similar Agile / program management certification.

  • Experience with agentic AI technologies or advanced AI orchestration concepts.

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing internal customer needs.

  • Collaborative leader capable of building consensus and driving alignment across diverse technical and business stakeholders.

  • Strong interest in the intersection of AI, operational efficiency, and mission outcomes, with a demonstrated commitment to responsible AI adoption.

Primary Level Salary Range: $161,000.00 - $241,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
