Senior Integration & Test Engineer, Quality & Track Operations
Job Description
Latitude AI (lat.ai) develops automated driving technologies, including L3, for Ford vehicles at scale. We’re driven by the opportunity to reimagine what it’s like to drive and make travel safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable for everyone.
When you join the Latitude team, you’ll work alongside leading experts across machine learning and robotics, cloud platforms, mapping, sensors and compute systems, test operations, systems and safety engineering – all dedicated to making a real, positive impact on the driving experience for millions of people.
As a Ford Motor Company subsidiary, we operate independently to develop automated driving technology at the speed of a technology startup. Latitude is headquartered in Pittsburgh with engineering centers in Dearborn, Mich., and Palo Alto, Calif.
Meet the team:
The Test & Triage Engineering team serves as the critical bridge between upstream software test definition, physical track execution, and downstream test triage. We are a highly strategic, cross-functional group dedicated to maximizing structured test viability and overall track execution quality.
As a Senior Integration and Test Engineer on this team, you will own the overarching test strategy at our physical facilities, ensuring that testing is efficient, clearly defined, and properly executed. You will act as the primary engineering liaison for track operators and facilities, translating complex test requirements into actionable, unified schedules. By championing quality assurance early in the work stream and optimizing how we capture test data, your work will directly reduce downstream triage rework and accelerate our software release strategy.
What you’ll do:
- Strategic Test Leadership & Process Optimization: Own the structured testing strategy across complex hardware and software systems, actively identifying bottlenecks and driving continuous improvements throughout physical testing environments
- End-to-End Data Integrity: Define and enforce rigorous quality standards to guarantee the reliability of all test outputs from initial physical data collection through to integration with downstream analytical pipelines
- Standardization & Ambiguity Reduction: Translate complex engineering requirements into standardized, highly reliable testing protocols that streamline daily operations and minimize manual setup errors
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the primary strategic liaison uniting internal software engineering and simulation infrastructure teams with test operations and facilities management to execute overarching engineering goals
- Resource Management & Bottleneck Resolution: Manage complex testing schedules to effectively balance competing priorities, facilitating problem-solving initiatives to rapidly resolve system integration and physical execution roadblocks at their source
- Long-Term Vision & Release Acceleration: Establish 6-to-12-month strategic objectives that significantly improve testing architecture, partnering with stakeholders to refine testing criteria and accelerate the software release strategy
What you'll need to succeed:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field and 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or PhD)
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, test execution, or data analysis for complex hardware/software systems
- Technical Troubleshooting: Proven ability to understand, integrate, and troubleshoot complex hardware and software modules in both lab and real-world field environments
- Communication & Leadership: Superb communication skills, with the capability to distill complex technical concepts into actionable operational instructions while providing clear, strategic executive summaries to leadership
- Workflow Optimization: Demonstrated track record of optimizing engineering workflows, improving test modalities, and writing clear system requirements
- Systems Knowledge: Deep understanding of test infrastructure, simulation environments, and complex data logging/analysis pipelines
Nice to have:
- Experience managing physical test site logistics or acting as a primary technical liaison with testing facilities and operational teams
- Strong data manipulation and scripting skills (such as Python or SQL) for analyzing test metrics, identifying trends, and automating quality reporting
- Extensive experience independently identifying and resolving complex, system-level anomalies within advanced software architectures
What we offer you:
- Competitive compensation packages
- High-quality individual and family medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Health savings account with available employer match
- Employer-matched 401(k) retirement plan with immediate vesting
- Employer-paid group term life insurance and the option to elect voluntary life insurance
- Paid parental leave
- Paid medical leave
- Unlimited vacation
- 15 paid holidays
- Daily lunches, snacks, and beverages available in all office locations
- Pre-tax spending accounts for healthcare and dependent care expenses
- Pre-tax commuter benefits
- Monthly wellness stipend
- Adoption/Surrogacy support program
- Backup child and elder care program
- Professional development reimbursement
- Employee assistance program
- Discounted programs that include legal services, identity theft protection, pet insurance, and more
- Company and team bonding outlets: employee resource groups, quarterly team activity stipend, and wellness initiatives
