Job Description
Mission Brief
You’ll be part of the Combustion Devices team, specifically the Thrust Chamber Assembly (TCA) team. You’ll be part of a highly motivated team in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accelerating the design-built-test cycle. You’ll be responsible for conducting TCA and other combustion devices component tests, data handling and data analysis of these tests, as well as improvements of the process and test setup.
Your Role in Our Space Mission
- Be responsible for water spray testing of TCA and combustion devices components including conducting tests, data handling and data analysis
- Owning and improving process and test setup of TCA and combustion devices component water spray tests
- Support thrust chamber assembly subscale or integrated engine hotfire tests including testing support, data handling and data analysis
- Support the team in other tasks including conduction of other development tests, data analysis code improvements, component modeling, CAD tasks and documentation
Qualification Checklist
- BSc/MSc in mechanical or aerospace engineering or comparable
- Excellent understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
- Hands-on experience in preparing and conducting rocket or aircraft engine or engine component tests
- Experience in data analysis of rocket or aircraft engine or engine component tests
- Experience in manufacturing of engine components (additive manufacturing experience preferred)
- Proficiency in Python, Matlab or comparable programming language
- Highly motivated, proactive, open-minded, willing to “get hands dirty” and eager to learn on the job
- Fluent in English
Bonus Skills
- Experience in non-reacting and reacting CFD simulations (ANSYS Fluent preferred)
- Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks preferred)
