Founding Software Engineer

Mission: IronLedger is reducing the cost to manage housing, starting with automated accounting.

Problem: Hiring accountants is expensive ($100K+ annually) and the market is already facing a shortage of back-office workers (75% of CPAs are retiring in the next 8 years and property manager turnover is ~30% annually). We’re building agents to automate accounting for owners and managers of $2.6T+ in real estate assets.

IronLedger is hiring 1 founding engineer to be in-person in New York City as soon as possible. We have an overwhelming amount of customer demand and need incredible engineers to keep up. 

Your Role:

• Build at the frontier of AI in Real Estate: Lead development of agents and AI-enabled software for accounting and property management workflows
• Be incredibly product-focused: You will translate product requirements + feedback directly from the customer into high quality features and magical user experiences
• Wear many hats and be an owner: You are a partner and owner of IronLedger. You will primarily focus on full stack development, but can wear many hats. This may include flying with our team to customers, listening to feedback directly and designing your own product UI/UX

As we grow, this role will transition into IronLedger’s Head of Engineering.

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of software development with demonstrated experience building applications with foundational models, Vector DBs and AI agent frameworks
  • Key Skills: AWS, NextJs, Python, experience with Vector DBs, prompt engineering, and deploying agents into production (nice to have)
• Energized by creating magical, near-perfect customer experiences that users love
• Deploy high quality code quickly and are excited to iterate to get closer to perfection
• An appreciation and curiosity for the “boring”, fundamental and complex problems like accounting and property management workflows. Dirty jobs!
• An ambitious partner who’s excited to build a multi-billion dollar business in a future $100B software market

The team:

We bring experience from multi-billion dollar start-ups like Rippling and Cruise, venture capital firms, and $100Ms in real estate development and management experience.

We are a small, flat team that enjoys lunches and dinners together, provides ~1 day of remote work per week, and will travel across the country with you to both serve customers, grind and relax!

Current team interests include UFC, pickling, finding the best Thai food in NYC and celebratory cigars

The role will be based out of IronLedger's office in New York City.
