Our Founders

Hyperspell was founded in 2024 by Conor Brennan-Burke and Manu Ebert. Conor previously lead growth at Checkr and managed their $30m API product portfolio and is generally known as "the most helpful founder in YC".

Manu has over 15 years of experience in machine learning and AI, sold two prior companies, led high-growth engineering teams at Airbnb, and bought his first .ai domain in 2014 (he had to send a fax (!) to the domain authority in Anguilla to do so).

About the role

As our founding forward deployed engineer, your mission is to set our customers up for success, and work

advance what's possible with AI agents. You'll be working at the frontier of how AI systems understand, remember, and reason about information.

You'll tackle challenges like:

• Evolving the world’s first self-integrating SDK: Improving how developers connect their apps to Hyperspell, making integration feel like magic

• Owning relationships: You’ll be the face of the company to many of our customers. You’ll respond to their feature requests and their bug reports, and will fix many yourself before they even hit our ticket system.

• Customer deep-dives: Embedding with customers to understand their business, their data, their users — then finding opportunities to solve problems they didn't know they had

• Full-stack feature ownership: Building new integrations, API endpoints, dashboard features, and analytics tools end-to-end.

• Shaping the product: Translating customer pain points into product direction. Your insights from the field will directly influence our roadmap

• Technical enablement: Helping customers architect their implementations, debug tricky issues, and get the most out of our platform

What you'll do

• In the first 30 days, you'll take over new accounts, own onboarding customers to Hyperspell, and build and ship smaller features they request.

• In 60 days, you'll ship internal tools and dashboards to help us manage workflows. You'll deploy custom AI agents to work alongside you to help our customers succeed.

• In 90 days, you'll own larger projects that touch all parts of our stack and affect both current and future customers.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience product engineering

• Fluency in Python and Typescript

• Clarity of thought, excellent communication

• A genuine joy in helping other engineers succeed

• Ability to work on location in San Francisco

Compensation

• $150-220k base salary

• 0.5-1.5% equity

• $10,000 to build your dream work setup
