Job Description
Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering. Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truth-seeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.
About the role
We’re hiring a Lifecycle Growth Manager to architect Cursor’s lifecycle growth motion end-to-end.
This is a full-funnel role focused on turning lifecycle into a durable growth lever, not a queue of one-off campaigns. You’ll design and ship lifecycle experiences across in-product surfaces and messaging (email, in-product, push, and whatever else makes sense), then measure what worked, why it worked, and what to do next.
You’ll partner closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Product Marketing, and GTM. Expect high ownership, fast iteration, and a strong bias toward rigorous measurement.
What you’ll do
Own and build Cursor’s lifecycle growth motion end-to-end, turning lifecycle into a core growth lever.
Architect and ship lifecycle experiences across in-product surfaces and messaging (email, in-app, push, etc.), with clear hypotheses and success metrics.
Drive impact across the funnel: activation, monetization, retention, and expansion.
Run a high-velocity experimentation program: define hypotheses, design tests, measure incrementality, and scale winners.
Translate product and customer insights into lifecycle interventions that increase adoption of high-value workflows.
Partner with Product and Engineering to improve lifecycle infrastructure: channel expansion, experimentation processes, delivery systems, and data pipelines.
Build measurement foundations (with support from engineering and data): dashboards, cohort analyses, funnel reporting, and lift measurement in imperfect attribution environments.
Communicate learnings across the organization through concise writeups, dashboards, and recurring updates.
You may be a fit if
You’ve shipped lifecycle programs that materially improved activation, retention, and usage depth, not just open and click rates.
Expertise in audience segmentation, targeting, and multi-channel orchestration across self-serve funnels and multi-stakeholder customer journeys.
You have strong product intuition and can influence direction without authority, using data, customer insight, and clear tradeoffs.
Hands-on experience with automation, email, and messaging platforms (e.g., Customer.io, Unify, Hightouch) and comfort working with APIs, event triggers, and CRM data.
You’re rigorous about measurement and experimentation, including incrementality thinking and comfort operating with noisy or incomplete data.
You can prioritize well under constraint and build a roadmap that resists reactive one-off work.
You’re highly analytical and comfortable with cohort analysis, funnel metrics, and moving quickly from data to decisions.
You thrive in high-ownership environments and enjoy building from scratch.
You can balance strategy and execution: journey mapping and opportunity sizing, plus getting your hands dirty writing copy, QA’ing campaigns, and iterating in tools.
You’re a Cursor power user and have a deep understanding of developers’ workflows and pain points.
Working style
This team moves fast. We respect work-life balance, and we also care a lot about outcomes. The right person is energized by the occasional late-night push or weekend sprint when it means a real step-function for the business.
