The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced production environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and can effectively balance multiple priorities while supporting manufacturing teams. This position works closely with Production, Inventory Control, Quality, Logistics, and Manufacturing Engineering to minimize downtime, maintain inventory accuracy, and support the timely movement of materials throughout the production process.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support multiple manufacturing work cells by staging, replenishing, and transporting materials, components, consumables, tooling, fixtures, and WIP.
Monitor production areas for material shortages, excess inventory, misplaced materials, and other issues that may impact manufacturing efficiency.
Deliver materials according to production schedules, work order priorities, and manufacturing requirements.
Remove completed assemblies, nonconforming material, scrap, empty containers, and excess inventory from production areas.
Maintain organized, clean, and audit-ready work areas through proper material staging, labeling, visual controls, and point-of-use inventory management.
Assist with production line changeovers, work cell setup activities, and material readiness efforts.
Respond quickly to production support requests while effectively managing competing priorities.
Perform material movement transactions within ERP, MES, or other manufacturing systems to maintain accurate inventory and WIP visibility.
Verify part numbers, quantities, lot and serial information, work orders, and material condition before issuing or moving materials.
Identify and escalate discrepancies involving inventory accuracy, damaged materials, labeling issues, or system/location mismatches.
Support cycle counts, inventory reconciliation efforts, shortage investigations, and material traceability activities.
Follow established procedures for handling controlled materials, ESD-sensitive components, nonconforming material, and manufacturing documentation.
Coordinate with Inventory Control, Receiving, Planning, and Production teams to resolve routine material availability issues.
Communicate material constraints, production interruptions, and priority conflicts to supervisors and cross-functional teams.
Participate in root cause investigations related to material shortages, staging errors, and manufacturing flow challenges.
Recommend improvements to material presentation, replenishment processes, staging locations, visual controls, and overall floor organization.
Assist in training new team members on material handling procedures, system transactions, safety requirements, and production support expectations.
Comply with all safety, quality, ESD, FOD, documentation, and material handling requirements.
