About the Role & Team

The spacecraft hardware technician is responsible for building, testing, and integrating spacecraft and deployable Assemblies. You will be a key member within the Production team, working directly with technicians, manufacturing engineers, test engineers, and production planning.

Role Responsibilities

  • Perform complex build, test, and integration operations which will include materials preparation, precision hand assembly, bonding, and harness routing.
  • Read, understand, and execute work instructions to build advanced and precise electrical/mechanical assemblies
  • Take ownership of and maintain as-run work instruction documentation
  • Collaborate with engineering to develop work instructions and review engineering for manufacturability
  • Analyze build processes and work with engineering to increase efficiency
  • Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
  • Perform other duties as necessary.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years related experience manufacturing high-precision Spacecraft Components, Spacecrafts, or similar
  • Ability to read & interpret engineering documentation such as mechanical drawings, GD&T, cable harnesses, and work instructions.
  • IPC certification (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, IPC/WHMA-A-620) or familiarity with aerospace build standards preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes such as machining, composite assembly/bonding, precision mechanical assembly, and harness wiring/routing.
  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable. Compensation

The annual salary range for this role is $63,232 - $79,040. This role is salaries and overtime eligible. The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
