The Boeing CompanyBGS Government Training Engineering (GTE) is seeking a Systems Engineer Product Owner (Associate & Mid-Level) for the Visuals Systems Engineering team in Hazelwood, MO.
The Agile Product Owner (in Systems Engineering) represents stakeholders and customers for systems-level capabilities being delivered by the Visual Systems Integration Team. This person translates mission and program objectives into a prioritized backlog of systems requirements, ensures cross-disciplinary alignment, and delivers systems incrementally in accordance with engineering standards, safety, and certification constraints.
Position Responsibilities:
- Own and prioritize the systems engineering product backlog to maximize value for the program and end users.
- Translate stakeholder needs, system-level requirements, and program objectives into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and system requirements.
- Collaborate with systems engineers, software, hardware, test, safety, and certification teams to ensure integrated solutions.
- Maintain strong traceability between requirements, implementations, verification artifacts, and certification evidence.
- Participate in and lead Agile ceremonies (PI/Program Increment planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, PO/PM Sync, demos, retrospectives) and represent systems priorities.
- Support Product Managers in the decomposition of system capabilities into work packages that map to engineering disciplines and sprint increments.
- Validate acceptance criteria and approve system deliverables through verification and validation activities.
- Balance scope, schedule, risk, and technical debt; make informed trade-off decisions with engineering leads and stakeholders.
- Communicate system status, risks, and impacts to product managers and other stakeholders.
- Develop metrics/reports on team execution; leverage the analysis of those reports, alongside team retrospective feedback, to implement process improvement and increase quality/throughput.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, safety standards, and organizational systems engineering processes.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
- 3+ years experience operating in an Agile work environment
- Experience decomposing high-level work packages into stories, including defining the work and connecting it to upstream/downstream dependencies.
- Experience working engineering projects that leverage computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, network engineering, and/or cybersecurity skills and disciplines.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of higher education and/or related work experience (Higher education includes college, university, technical school, licensing/certification programs, etc.) (Level 3)
- 1+ years in a Product Owner role for an Agile engineering team
- Experience with the Jira and Confluence agile tool suite.
- Experience configuring/testing graphics hardware and visual displays, such as projectors, commercial displays/TVs, and MR/VR headsets
- Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
- Experience with the deployment and management of virtual machines
- Experience developing, deploying, and installing software for display systems
- Certifications surrounding networking and cybersecurity such as CompTIA Net+, CompTIA Security+ or Cisco CCNA
- Experience with deploying and administering Windows/Linux Operating Systems including Active Directory, Group Policy, network configuration and security hardening
- Experience in networking configuration including VLANs, DHCP, DNS, switching protocols and security hardening

Summary Pay Range Associate (Level 2): $91,800- $124,200
Summary Pay Range Mid-Level (Level 3): $112,200- $151,800
