Systems Engineer, Certification & Airworthiness (Entry / Associate)

The Boeing Company is looking for a Systems Engineer (Entry or Associate) on the Chinook Airworthiness & Certification Team to join our team in Ridley Park, Pennsylvania.

This position will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to the full range of activities required to support Airworthiness Certification for various customers of the H47 Chinook aircraft.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, change management, project management, influencing without authority, & consultation

  • Ability to communicate concisely in writing, verbally, one-on-one, in small groups, and to large audiences

  • Experience managing, developing, motivating and communicating responsibilities to team members

  • Maintain situational awareness of the overall program and critical path sequencing

  • Proactively communicate with various leadership team/s, peers and customers

  • Collaborate with various IPTs to ensure certification requirements are integrated in design and test of aircraft systems

 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.


Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): (Please see Education & Experience for the levels below)

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement

  • Systems Engineering education or experience

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors and 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). Experience working with or on an engineering team

  • Related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience leading or managing projects and/or teams

  • Experience in continued and/or continuing airworthiness

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills as well as excellent written and oral communication skills

  • Performance in a team-oriented environment with multiple engineering, customer and supplier stakeholders

  • Experience developing supplier requirements

  • Experience working with US Department of Defense customers

  • Experience with MIL-HDBK-516, 14 CFR 29, CS-29 or any set of airworthiness regulations

  • Chinook platform knowledge

 

Typical Education & Experience:

Entry (Level 1)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry.

Associate (Level 2)

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.  

Summary pay range (Level 1): $79,050 - $106,950  

Summary pay range (Level 2): $98,600 - $133,400
