The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is seeking a highly motivated Special Test Equipment (STE) Readiness and Support Manager to lead our Boeing Test and Evaluation (BT&E) team in El Segundo, CA.
The selected candidate will provide day-to-day leadership, technical oversight, and workforce management for a 24/7 team responsible for STE readiness, analytics, sustainment, support, certification, and execution. This position will ensure STE is available, maintained, and ready to support program test plans and operational requirements across the product lifecycle.
The STE Readiness and Support Manager will partner with engineering, factory operations, test execution leaders, program management, and other key stakeholders to prioritize work, resolve readiness issues, and drive continuous improvement in support processes, quality, reliability, and responsiveness.
This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, along with experience in technical and operational support environment. The selected candidate will be responsible for managing team performance, developing employees, allocating resources, and ensuring technical, cost, schedule, and quality objectives are achieved.

Position Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a team supporting STE readiness and support activities
Set expectations, monitor performance, and provide coaching, feedback, and career development for employees
Prioritize, coordinate, and oversee execution of STE support statement of work (SoW) to meet program and operational commitments
Ensure STE is available, maintained, calibrated, certified, and ready for use in support of test and program requirements
Lead efforts to reduce STE downtime by analyzing failure data, identifying high-risk failure areas and parts, procuring replacement parts, implementing upgrades, and driving corrective actions and spares planning
Coordinate engineering, hardware, and software updates to support STE upgrades, validations, and new requirements
Support and improve STE certification process through the engineering change process to enhance reliability and readiness
Forecast STE demand and identify shortages to ensure correct assets and spares are available to support future test phases
Troubleshoot STE anomalies, drive root cause investigations, and ensure corrective action and containment steps are completed
Coordinate with engineering, operations, quality, test, program, and factory stakeholders to prioritize work, remove barriers, resolve readiness issues, and drive continuous improvement
Translate business and technical priorities into actionable team plans, schedules, and resource allocations
Support and drive process improvements to increase readiness, responsiveness, efficiency, and support quality
Ensure compliance with applicable company policies, procedures, quality requirements, and safety standards
Represent the organization in technical, operational, and leadership forums as required
Communicate effectively with stakeholders and demonstrate strong people leadership and team development skills
Support planning for test phase readiness, spacecraft test execution, and STE deployment activities as needed
Provide a staffed team to deliver 24/7 support and solutions for continuous floor and offsite operations
Establish and drive the use of data analytics, data visualization and 2nd Century Enterprise Systems to improve STE productivity, availability, readiness and predictive repair and maintenance

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in El Segundo, CA.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership”
5+ years of experience in engineering, test, operations support, maintenance support, manufacturing support, or a related technical discipline
Experience coordinating priorities, schedules, and resources in a fast-paced environment
Experience supporting test equipment readiness, certification, troubleshooting, or sustainment activities
Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, test, program office, and support organizations
Willing to support a 24/7 on-call environment
Willingness to travel up to 10%
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience working in test with Special Test Equipment (STE) for satellite production
Experience supporting STE, test systems, laboratories, and production support equipment
Experience leading STE readiness, upgrade, sustainment, or certification efforts
Experience using failure data to identify risk areas and drive reliability improvements
Experience managing STE spares, demand forecasting, and asset availability planning
Experience troubleshooting technical anomalies and leading corrective action follow-through
Experience working across engineering, operations, quality, and program organizations
Experience with technical planning, resource allocation, and team performance management
Experience applying Program Management Best Practices (PMBPs) to include project planning / scheduling and applying Earned Value Management (EVM)
Experience leading process improvement initiatives to improve readiness, quality, reliability, or supportability
Experience supporting aerospace, space systems, avionics, or test and evaluation environments
Experience with continuous improvement methods and operational excellence practices
Experience communicating technical and programmatic issues to leadership and stakeholders
Experience supporting test phase readiness, spacecraft test execution, and STE deployment planning
