The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Software UX & Product Design (Senior or Lead) to support our Data Analytics and System Health (DASH) team located in Hazelwood, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Global Services (BGS) Software Engineering Organization. 

As the Software UX (User Experience) and Product Design (Senior or Lead), you will provide technical leadership and product direction to the software development team by guiding the end-to-end user experience strategy across the DASH product line. You will work with Product Managers to translate a Product strategy into prioritized UX work through roadmap development, success-metrics formalization, and solution validation to ensure business objectives and user needs are met. You will serve as an integral bridge between design execution and product strategy by leading user research, defining UX strategy, presenting to stakeholders, and ensuring the software team delivers a consistent, user-centered approach with measurable outcomes. 

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

 

Position Responsibilities:   

  • Lead the UX and user-centered design process for data analytics solutions, ensuring alignment with user needs and business goals

  • Lead user research, interviews, usability testing, and qualitative/quantitative research through behavioral analytics and telemetry metrics to gather insights that inform design decisions

  • Develop, maintain, and lead a product design framework through Figma libraries, component patterns, and documentation to enforce consistent, accessible, and reusable UIs across the portfolio

  • Create specific high-fidelity prototypes and wireframes using Figma or equivalent design tools for product design

  • Develop design specifications and guidelines to ensure consistency across products

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to integrate user-centered requirements and user feedback into the development lifecycle

  • Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to validate design decisions

  • Develop user documentation and training materials to support product launches

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members by fostering a culture of design thinking within the team

  • Stay up to date on emerging technology and market trends in the domain of data analytics and AI/ML enabled software solutions

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):  

  • 9+ years of related work experience in software system design

  • 5+ years of experience in UX/UI design in Figma or equivalent interface design tool

  • Demonstrated leadership in full lifecycle product design from research to usability testing

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or equivalent experience

  • Level 5: 14+ years of related work experience in software system design

  • Level 5: 7+ years of experience in UX/UI design in Figma or equivalent interface design tool

  • Experience designing enterprise SaaS products 

  • Track record of successful product launch, adoption, and delivery 

  • Experience in the aerospace and defense domain 

  • Experience designing analytics dashboards for decision support 

  • Familiarity with best practices of Human Centered Design 

  • Experience with predictive and generative AI/ML technology 

  • Experience leading collaboration with user communities and cross functional stakeholders 

  • Knowledge of software product specification format requirements, guidelines, and change control processes 

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively 

  • Knowledge of software development processes in a compliance centric environment 

  • Deep familiarity with modern web development technologies

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.   

 

Summary pay range for Senior Level: $127,500 - $197,800

Summary pay range for Lead Level (5): $153,000 - $239,200
