SLS Vehicle Lead Production Support Engineer

The Boeing CompanyBoeing, Defense, Space, and Security (BDS) is seeking motivated, talented Senior Mechanical Systems and Analysis Engineers to join our Space Launch Systems (SLS) located in New Orleans, Louisiana and Kennedy Space Center, Florida, to be Vehicle Lead Engineers.
This role provides overall leadership and guidance to the shop floor engineering/technical execution teams and is critical in ensuring the efficient operation of flight hardware production and maintenance, with a focus on problem-solving, and technical authority.
Position Responsibilities:
Serves as the primary technical authority on the shop floor for all hardware-related issues.
Provide guidance and support to shop floor personnel (engineering and operations) in troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges.
Utilizes advanced problem-solving skills to address a wide range of technical challenges that may arise during production and maintenance.
Implements effective solutions that minimize downtime and enhance operational efficiency.
Collaborates with the design engineering organization to interpret engineering drawings and provides clarification on engineering intent to mechanics, operations leaders, liaison / manufacturing / industrial engineering, quality, and program management
Determines the appropriate disposition of hardware and processes to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards.
Works closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, quality, and production, to facilitate rapid response and seamless operations.
Communicates technical findings and recommendations clearly to all stakeholders.
Identifies opportunities for process improvements and contributes to the development of best practices.
Mentors and trains engineering personnel supporting production to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
Facilitates rapid execution of engineering drawing revisions as a response to production build by coordinating integrated research packages with liaison engineering who provides authority and final decision on the change
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
Typically, 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications

Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners
Previous technical leadership experience
Ability to build a safe environment of inclusion, transparency, and trust

Can gain trust of team and stakeholders
Previous launch vehicle manufacturing experience
