Job Summary:
As a Senior Capture Team Lead, you will be responsible for shaping markets and capturing new business for Millennium Space Systems. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, customer engagement, and execution, translating mission area priorities into executable campaigns that drive measurable growth. As a key member of the Business Development team, you will lead campaign activities across one or more mission areas, owning efforts from early opportunity identification through contract award and transition to execution. You will partner closely with engineering, programs, Contracts and Global Supply Chain leadership to ensure solutions, capabilities, and investments are aligned to win and deliver. This position reports to the Vice President of Business Development & Strategy. This position is fully onsite at our office in El Segundo, California.
This position’s internal job title is Marketing and Sales Rep. Our team is currently hiring for level 4.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead and build cross-functional campaign teams to capture key spacecraft programs in critical mission areas
- Translate mission area strategy into executable capture plans and prioritized pursuits
- Identify, qualify, and shape new business opportunities aligned to company growth objectives
- Engage customers to understand mission needs, architectures, requirements, acquisition strategies, and key stakeholders
- Develop and execute capture and win strategies informed by customer insight, competitive analysis, and business case
- Create and deliver compelling presentations, white papers, and briefings that advance shaping strategies and influence customer decisions
- Partner with engineering, programs, and Global Supply Chain to align technical solutions, supplier strategies, and execution approaches
- Identify capability gaps and inform CRAD/IRAD investments, ensuring alignment between internal R&D and campaign needs
- Support make/buy/invest/acquire decisions to strengthen competitive positioning and enable scalable execution
- Lead teaming strategy development, partner selection, and integration into capture plans
- Develop business cases, including pricing considerations, investment trade-offs, and execution risk
- Own campaign execution through Gate Reviews, including bid/no-bid recommendations and proposal approvals
- Lead capture through proposal development, submission, and transition to program execution (ATP)
- Maintain pipeline health and provide accurate forecasting of opportunities, resources, and timelines
- Ability to operate with speed and discipline in a dynamic environment
- Strong ownership mindset with accountability for outcomes, not just activity
- Ability to build credibility and trust across customers, partners, and internal teams
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in an Engineering or Technical discipline
- Minimum of 5 years' experience with spacecraft, satellites, payloads, ground systems, and/or space based/mission systems
- Experience interfacing directly with U.S. Government customers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights
- Excellent communication skills and ability to develop executive-level briefings
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Master’s degree in a technical or business-related field
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional or matrixed teams to achieve program or proposal objectives
- Experience in program management, including cost and schedule planning
- Experience with design, development, and/or operations of space vehicles
- Experience leading DoD and/or Intelligence Community capture and proposal efforts

Summary pay range: Level 4: $129,200 - $190,000
