The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Loads and Dynamics Engineer (Experienced/Senior) to support our teams in Edwards Airforce Base, CA.
In this role, you will provide loads and dynamics expertise, and guidance to the T-7A engineering, manufacturing and development program. This position requires strong communication skills in addition to strong analytical problem solving skills and subject matter expertise in fixed-wing aircraft dynamics and loads. Communication with customers and program managers is expected as well as coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers, checking engineering analysis, and providing feedback. Experience with Flight test and flight test data processing strongly desired.
This role resides within the Flight Engineering Capability in the Air Dominance division of Boeing Defense, Space & Security. Flight Engineering is responsible for performing engineering across a large portfolio of products and development programs. The set of specialized capabilities and skills maintained by our teammates are the foundation of what defines the majority of our Boeing military products; things that FLY! Flight Engineering is looking for motivated, talented engineers to join the Boeing team on the exciting programs located in this region. Selected candidates will work the T-7A program conducting analysis and testing in Flight disciplines to meet customer requirements.

Position Responsibilities:
Conduct standard loads and dynamics analyses and tests for new and derivative vehicles
Build mathematical models, develop, integrate and document loads and dynamics requirements to establish system design
Collaborate with other engineering groups to establish loads and dynamics environments
Uses analytical tools and models to support product design and verify that the flight vehicle integrates and demonstrates compliance to internal and external specifications and requirements
Perform predictive analysis for aeroelastic stability, flutter, buffet, static and dynamic forces that act on a vehicle
Define structural, inertial, aerodynamic and systems definition for analyses
Develop tests, support test execution and analysis, and report test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
Define and document certification and test results to support compliance with customer and regulatory agency requirements
Perform failure investigations for in-service products, identify and analyze improvements
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
7+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR 5+ years with a Masters OR a PhD with working experience in loads & dynamics
At least 3 years of experience in an engineering role relevant to flight loads or flutter
Experience coaching or training less experienced engineers
Experience conducting efforts for major programs
Proficiency with at least one programming language (e.g. Fortran, Matlab, Python, JAVA, etc.)
Expertise in fixed wing flight loads or flight dynamics
Working knowledge of Military Air Vehicle certification requirements as it relates to loads and/or structural dynamics
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
9+ years of working experience with a Bachelor’s OR 7+ years with a Masters OR 3+ years with a PhD
At least 5 years of experience in an engineering role relevant to flight loads or flutter

Level 3: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications. In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Level 4: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), computer science, engineering data science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience or non-US equivalent qualifications.
