Boeing Information Digital Technology & Security (IDT&S) has an immediate opening for an Experienced Full Stack Developer / AI-Enabled Modernization Developer to join the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Strategy Office team. Our mission is to transform our IDT&S organization into the best in the aerospace and defense industry by enhancing digital experience, fostering a product-centric culture, and implementing top-tier tools and processes.
This role is part of a newly formed IDT&S team at the center of Boeing’s AI strategy. We are building a dedicated office focused on accelerating AI adoption across the enterprise. Joining now means you will help shape the technical direction, influence team culture, and contribute to how AI transforms our products, platforms, and operations.
The primary responsibility of this position is to support Boeing teams with the development, maintenance, modernization, and integration of enterprise software applications using modern software development practices and AI-enabled tooling. You will work as part of a collaborative team of software developers focused on accelerating enterprise application updates and modernization efforts.
Position Responsibilities:
Design, program, test, document, and maintain computing applications and modernization solutions
Gather and evaluates end-user requirements and translates them into technical solutions (using AI tools)
Utilize AI agents and tools to support the writing and compilation of code and the construction of database objects based on documented design
Analyze information to determine architecture specifications, software compatibility, application security needs, and other application architecture requirements
Modify or upgrades applications to maintain software functionality and performance
Identify and resolve programming or application architecture problems
Support technology stack updates and legacy application modernization efforts across enterprise teams
Apply AI tooling to support code analysis, refactoring, test generation, documentation, and migration activities
Support Specialized-Driven Development (SDD) and/or Design-Driven Development (DDD) practices to improve traceability and quality
Collaborate closely with Information Security, Cloud Enablement, and vendor partners to ensure secure and compliant AI adoption
Train and support developers and Agile Scrum teams on best practices in AI tooling, secure development, and modernization methods
Review system performance and recommending improvements to support maintainability, scalability, and security
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
3+ years of experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) software development
3+ years of experience with application development in one or more programming languages such as C#/C-Sharp, .NET, C, C++, Java, Python, R, SQL, Pro*C/C++, Perl, Shell Scripting, and Web/HTML technologies (JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, web services, REST, microservices etc.)
3+ years of experience in working with agile teams and agile software development
3+ years of experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
5+years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with AI tooling for software development, code transformation, test automation, documentation, or analysis
Experience supporting legacy modernization initiatives, including rehosting, re-platforming, rearchitecting, or refactoring
Experience with Spec-Driven Development or Design-Driven Development practices
Experience demonstrating initiative and ownership in supporting enterprise modernization and AI adoption efforts
Experience communicating clearly and effectively with developers, architects, security partners, leaders, and vendors
Experience working independently or with limited direction on moderately complex assignments
Experience training, coaching, or mentoring developers on modern engineering tools and practices
Experience collaborating with vendors on technical solution evaluation or adoption
Experience with secure coding, Dev/Sec/Ops, Continuous Integration/ Continuous Development (CI/CD), and enterprise governance practices
5+ years of experience in a dedicated Software Developer role
5+ years of experience with database design, development of queries in Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL
