Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is looking for a First Line Production Engineering Manager (Level K) to join our team in El Segundo, California.


The selected individual will lead a high-performing team driving production excellence for critical aerospace programs. In this role you’ll shape technical approaches, streamline processes with stakeholders, and deliver impactful improvements that directly support mission-critical systems. Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Production Engineering, with an emphasis on Manufacturing Engineering Planning

  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals

  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of one or more Production Engineering disciplines and leads process improvements

  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes

  • Manages, develops and motivates employees


This position is expected to be 100% onsite.  The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location option.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement 

  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Extensive experience with MESci systems, specifically with modifying Bill of Materials and updating work instructions

  • Experience supporting space programs in an assembly, integration, and test environment

  • Leadership skills to lead and influence positive outcomes

  • Ability to effectively communicate at all levels of management, customers, and partners

  • Can up-level existing team by hiring high performance talent, growing leaders and helping under-performing members
