Company:
The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Tool & Fixture Specialist (Level C) to join our team in New Orleans, LA
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs complex tool setup activities (e.g., alignment, leveling).
- Performs visual inspections on tools using appropriate documentation.
- Makes major repairs.
- Manufactures assembly and fabrication tools using various manual and computer controlled machines, hand tools and precision alignment equipment.
- Operates various factory support equipment to move materials and tools as required.
- Provides tooling support to other organizations.
- Designs various part fabrication and assembly tools per part engineering drawings or customer requests to enable production using computer or paper tool design processes.
- Determines fabrication and assembly processes for the design.
- Reverse engineers designs and fabrication processes for parts.
- Demonstrates functionality of complex fabrication and assembly tools to approving authority by manufacturing first part with new tool.
- Resolves problems with tool to produce acceptable parts and assemblies.
- Works under general direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 2+ years' experience in maintaining design tools, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- 2+ years' experience in the use of hand tools, and fabrication equipment
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- High School Diploma/GED
- Ability to perform maintenance or repair machinery
- Experience in maintenance or repair of industrial equipment
- Ability to maintain a periodic maintenance program in a production environment
- Basic computer skills- including but not limited to Microsoft Office Applications

NASA Access:
This position requires the ability to obtain access to a National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) facility. This is a NASA safety-sensitive position and is subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Summary pay range: $67,150 - $90,850 USD
