
Associate Manufacturing Engineer – Electrical

The Boeing CompanyBoeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) Space, Intelligence & Weapons Systems (SIWS) is seeking an Associate Manufacturing Engineer (Level 1) specializing in Electrical manufacturing to support production activities in El Segundo, CA.

Position Responsibilities:
Assist in developing and improving manufacturing processes for PCBA and electronic assemblies
Evaluate process and flight hardware workmanship and quality
Help create and maintain manufacturing documentation: process flows, work instructions, assembly guides, routings, tooling specs, and process control plans
Support process validations, first-article inspections, failure investigations, and root-cause activities
Support production ramps, capacity planning, and on-floor troubleshooting under guidance to meet schedule and quality targets
Participate in Lean and continuous improvement initiatives; apply basic problem-solving tools
Follow Boeing manufacturing standards, industry standards, and applicable regulatory requirements
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
0–2 years of experience with PCB/PCBA design or manufacturing, or equivalent internship/co-op experience
Some experience or coursework in defining process flows and documenting procedures
Familiarity with CAD/ECAD basics (CREO, SolidWorks, or similar), manufacturing data systems (MES/PLM), and Microsoft Office tools
Basic understanding of soldering, component bonding, board coating, lead forming, harness assembly, and electronic test methods (hands-on experience is a plus)
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Internship or co-op experience in aerospace/defense manufacturing
Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-A-610, J-STD-001), MIL-STD, and DFx/DFMA concepts for electronics
Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma concepts or related training
Experience or interest in test fixture design
