This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities.

As part of a hardworking team of specialists, you will lead strategic supply chain initiatives for various transportation systems. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of delivering strategic insights, analysis, and recommendations to senior leaders across Blue Origin. The Global Transportation  team is responsible for leading strategic cross functional projects to guide high value and high impact decisions across the supply chain’s movement of goods and persons. This role will be responsible for digging into the specific challenges of a process and communicating the relevant information for senior leadership evaluation. Strong analytical, operational, and communication skills are necessary for success in this role. Potential projects include in-source versus outsource strategic and financial analysis, technical capability cost-benefit analysis, transportation strategy evaluation, process document authoring, enterprise software requirements management, creating strategic business processes, chartering the tool-sets necessary to launch them and other ad hoc cross-functional strategic projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support and/or lead the execution of the end-to-end delivery of multiple technical projects, including planning, scheduling, procurement, resource allocation, and budget management. 
  • Act as primary contact to developing overall project management plan consistent with objectives defined by key stakeholders. 
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to define, monitor and control project scope, goals, and deliverables.
  •  Proactively monitor and control project scope, manage change requests, and track risks and opportunities for multiple projects. 
  • Track key performance indicators and report out at program monthly reviews.
  • Manage the preparation, execution, and closeout of follow-up actions for Gated Reviews (e.g., SRR, PDR, CDR).  
  • Develop tools for transportation assets for both internal and external customers. 
  • Perform audits and continual improvement of project management tools and apply structure to how a growing organization manages multiple projects.  

Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S. degree or higher in engineering, construction, business, or another technical field.  
  • >2 years of experience in managing complex system development projects within the aerospace, high pressure system or similar safety critical industry.  
  • Prior execution of project(s) to successful completion, on budget and on time, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated developing knowledge and application of project management principles on multi-disciplinary integrated systems, including project planning, integrated master schedule, critical path, change management, and after-action reporting.  
  • Organized self-starter, capable of breaking down complex problems into traceable tasks and concisely presenting project status.  
  • Recognize and act on opportunities; maintain flexibility to adjust as requirements shift or constraints change.
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook), Intermediate Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to identify and tailor to a target audience.
  • Candidate must be able to successfully apply for badging at a government installation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Project Management Professional and/or Scrum Master
  • Prior experience working in the following areas:
    • Aerospace flight/component testing or design
    • Industrial construction industry including permitting, electrical, structural, cryogenics and fluids systems
    • Design, build and test of fluids and/or cryogenic systems
    • Data systems and instrumentation hardware and software development
  • Experience with Earned Value Management Systems
  • Experience with some or all the following tools: MS Project, MS Project Web App or Project Online, Airtable, Tableau, Windchill, and JIRA.
  • Strong passion and knowledge of Blue Origin and our Mission. 


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $145,188.00 - $203,263.20

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
