This role is part of Blue Origin corporate functions, providing centralized support across Blue Origin business unit teams, functions, and locations.

 

The Corporate Development team is responsible for generating, managing, and executing mergers and acquisitions, minority investments, and strategic partnerships, and supporting the execution of corporate growth initiatives. Within this team, Corporate Business Development & Strategic Partnerships focuses on structuring and executing Blue Origin’s most complex and high-impact strategic partnerships, joint ventures, and partner-linked financial structures (e.g., warrants and options).

 

As a Senior Manager, Corporate Business Development & Strategic Partnerships, you will lead end-to-end execution of high-impact partnerships that advance Blue Origin’s strategic and financial objectives. You will work closely with business units to define partnership theses, structure and negotiate strategic commercial agreements (often with warrants or other strategic financial components), and develop scalable frameworks that can be reused across the company.

 

You will work with senior leadership by conducting industry and partner research, strategic and financial analysis, due diligence on partnership opportunities, term sheets and contract negotiations, and both internal and external relationship building. In this role, you will be an entrepreneurial thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments, demonstrating a strong bias for action.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with executive and business unit leadership to identify, evaluate, and structure strategic partnership and ecosystem opportunities that support Blue Origin’s priorities
  • Lead end-to-end deal execution for complex partnerships, including opportunity assessment, business case development, term sheet design, negotiation, and closing
  • Structure and negotiate commercial agreements that may include warrants, options, or other partner-linked financial incentives, in close collaboration with Corporate Development, Legal, Tax, and Finance
  • Develop and maintain market maps, partner landscapes, and theses for priority partner categories  
  • Lead cross-functional deal and diligence teams, including legal, finance & accounting, tax, human resources, operations, IT, sales, engineering, and strategy
  • Evaluate opportunities and risks in potential strategic partnerships, including strategic fit, economic impact, execution risk, and regulatory considerations
  • Perform research, reporting, and analysis on partnership activity and competitive dynamics in the space and aerospace ecosystem
  • Prepare and present clear, concise investment and partnership memos, including recommendations for all stages of the partnership lifecycle (from sourcing through implementation planning)
  • Build and maintain tools, analytics, and reporting to highlight performance measurements, pipeline, and portfolio health for strategic partnerships
  • Help develop repeatable frameworks, templates, and playbooks for structuring and executing strategic partnerships and partner-linked financial packages

 

In addition, the Senior Manager, Corporate Business Development & Strategic Partnerships will be an independent thinker who can make convincing, information-based arguments. Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in business development, strategic partnerships, corporate development, investment banking, venture capital, principle investing, asset management, consulting, or a related field
  • Experience structuring and executing complex commercial partnerships (e.g., multi-year commercial agreements, strategic technology relationships, joint development or joint go-to-market)
  • Demonstrated fluency in financial and investment terminology and structures (e.g., revenue sharing, milestones, warrants and options, cap tables)
  • Highly organized and capable of planning and guiding complex, cross-functional work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to build clear, persuasive narratives and present to senior leadership
  • Aptitude for teamwork with demonstrated potential for leadership and influence without authority
  • Proven ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects and manage competing priorities
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of ambiguity

Desired:

  • MBA or advanced degree in business, finance, engineering, or related field
  • Experience working at or supporting a Fortune 500 company or high-growth, venture-backed startup
  • Experience working with U.S. Government customers or research agencies (e.g., NASA, AFRL, DARPA), or with government primes and major aerospace and defense partners
  • Experience with joint ventures, structured strategic alliances, or partner-linked financial incentives (e.g., warrants and options) in the context of strategic partnerships


 

Compensation Range for:

WA applicants is $169,624.00 - $237,473.25

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Drivers who operate Commercial Motor Vehicles with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) or combination of power unit and trailer that meets or exceeds 10,001 lbs. and/or transports placardable amounts of hazardous materials by ground in any vehicle on a public road while in commerce, may be subject to additional Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations including: Driver Qualification Files, Medical Certification (obtained before onboarding), Road Test, Hours of Service, Drug and Alcohol Testing (CDL drivers only), vehicle inspection requirements, CDL requirements (if applicable) and hazardous materials transportation/shipping training.

  • Required for certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
