We are looking for a Senior Training Program Manager to lead the design, development, and execution of training programs for a global Mapping Operations workforce. The role will own training programs across the full Operator lifecycle – from new hire onboarding to continuous learning and performance improvement for existing Operators.
The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in instructional design, scalable learning programs, and performance-based training. They will build structured learning pathways, develop engaging content, and create measurable training plans that improve Operator quality, throughput, and efficiency.
This role works closely with Operations, Product, Analytics, and Engineering teams to ensure training programs support evolving operational workflows and enable teams to deliver high-quality mapping data at scale in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will
- Own the end-to-end training strategy, including new hire onboarding, role-based certification, and continuous learning programs
- Design scalable learning frameworks that support a large, globally distributed workforce
- Develop structured training plans that align with group skill levels and incremental developments to the annotation software, standard operation procedures, and policies
- Apply instructional design principles to create engaging and effective learning experiences
- Develop training materials including learning modules, playbooks, practice tasks, and assessments
- Build remote learning programs optimized for distributed teams at different skill levels and train-the-trainer sessions
- Define training KPIs and success metrics tied to operational performance
- Design and implement assessments to measure knowledge retention and skill proficiency
- Partner with Operation Leads and Analytics team to understand performance trends to identify training gaps and develop targeted learning interventions
- Build processes to ensure training content stays current with product and workflow updates
- Work with Vendor Leads to ensure effective rollout and adoption of learning programs
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in training program management, learning and development, or instructional design
- Proven experience designing training programs for large, technical operational workforce
- Experience supporting large-scale, globally distributed teams
- Experience building remote and asynchronous learning programs
- Strong content development skills (training documentation, learning modules, assessments)
- Experience defining and tracking training effectiveness KPIs
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally for 2-4 weeks per year based on business needs
Desirable Qualifications
- Background in mapping, AI/ML data operations, or autonomous vehicle programs
- Experience working with multilingual workforces
The base salary range for this position is $111K-$161K per year. Aurora’s pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, the successful candidate’s starting base pay will be determined based on factors including job-related skills, experience, qualifications, relevant education or training, and market conditions. These ranges may be modified in the future. The successful candidate will also be eligible for an annual bonus, equity compensation, and benefits.
