Engineering Operations Lead

As an Engineering Operations Lead, you will work directly with the Hardware Engineering Leadership team to build and run business operations across the Hardware Engineering Organization and cross functional partners. The Hardware Engineering organization is the central engineering organization across Anduril that upholds the bar of engineering excellence, provides core engineering services, and develops strategic core technology products for hardware development across Anduril. In this role, you will partner with hardware engineering org leadership and teams from across the organization and company — spanning our business lines and divisions to our Finance and G&A teams to our core internal operations teams — to unpack ambiguous problems and build lasting, scalable solutions. Your work will vary from quick-turn operational fire-fighting, building and redesigning processes, to leading high-impact strategic projects. Your role and team will enable and provide operational leverage to the engineering organization that underpins and differentiates Anduril as the next generation defense prime.

Here’s what you’ll do:

• Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Work with business line operation teams, finance, talent acquisition, strategic real estate, central business operations, and facilities to unpack ambiguous problems and redesign processes.
• Manage operations for the full FTE lifecycle: From program demand intake, headcount growth, recruiting operations partnership, new hire onboarding, staffing assignments, to deliverable analysis and labor metric report-out (actuals vs. Op Plan vs. staffing platform).
• Facilitate operations for the space resourcing lifecycle: Enable the strategic growth and usage of workspaces and facilities for FTE growth and laboratory needs, and track platform and business line utilization of shared equipment and square footage.
• Partner with Hardware Engineering Leadership: Execute strategic initiatives for organizational development like defining and tracking metrics related to organizational health, service performance, team growth, and annual goals.
• Synthesize large datasets: Define KPIs and create leadership report-outs for Monthly Business Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Leadership Meetings with Division Leads and C-Suite.
• Maintain and Improve HW Engineering hosted company engagements: Lead recurring engineering discussions including Lunch and Learns, Quarterly Division All Hands, IEEE societies, ASME societies, and Engineering Leads meetings.
• Support and Develop Internal Processes: Work with Engineering Leads to develop processes/frameworks for org growth/talent acquisition, demand planning, staffing, employee mobility, seating/facilities, strategic real estate growth (workspaces and labs), and organization communications.
• Define operational metrics and KPIs: Build automations to help teams intake demand, assess team capacity, mitigate risk, and deliver on-time.
• Identify integrations and improvements: Enhance underlying data and system infrastructure to deliver high-value solutions to engineering leads.

Here’s who you are:

• Undergraduate degree in an engineering major or equivalent experience in engineering organizations with operational experience
• Minimum 4 years of experience in a consulting, operations, finance, product management, or general business analysis role, preferably with experience in a technical engineering role.
• Strong communicator with the ability to translate and articulate thoughts clearly across a wide range of roles and levels.
• Experience interfacing with leadership and executives, understanding how to facilitate meetings and engage with senior stakeholders.
• High emotional intelligence, solving operational problems from a data-driven and people-centric perspective.
• Ability to execute on a tactical level while also creating strategies to solve complex, cross-functional problems.
• High ownership and ability to juggle multiple large projects and priorities in parallel, reporting progress regularly.
• Discerning and a fast learner.
• U.S. Person status required due to access to export-controlled data.
• Ability to obtain and hold a US Top Secret clearance is preferred.
