This work is our passion and our responsibility: our mission is to make businesses more productive and people’s lives more fulfilling.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Systems Integration Engineer for Issue Management and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for our most complex system investigations. This role focuses on the diagnosis and resolution of novel, cross-functional hardware defects that have been escalated to the R&D team.
As a Senior level engineer, you will go beyond simple triage to navigate highly ambiguous failure modes, drive the most complex investigations, and lead coordination with partners across mechanical, electrical, and firmware teams. You will be accountable for large-scale investigations and will create reusable frameworks that enhance the productivity and quality of our organization.
Issue Triage
- Serve as a lead technical authority during the triage process, providing the expertise necessary to ensure the correct classification and disposition of complex hardware issues.
- Manage and prioritize escalated investigations, making informed trade-offs to ensure the most critical risks are mitigated first.
Root Cause Analysis
- Lead end-to-end investigations into novel cross functional failures, utilizing deep-dive telemetry analysis, log review, and hands-on electrical/mechanical testing to identify root causes.
- Leverage RCA strategies as appropriate such as Fishbone, 5-Whys, 8D, etc. to efficiently and effectively lead and execute investigations.
- Develop procedures & tools and execute strategies to root cause the most difficult and intermittent failures.
Continuous Improvement & Technical Leadership
- Author and maintain comprehensive troubleshooting guides and "Gold Standard" RCA reports that can be shared with both internal engineering teams and partners.
- Create reusable diagnostic frameworks and tools that enhance the efficiency of the broader triage team and improve technical autonomy.
- Act as a subject matter expert for junior engineers and technicians, promoting a culture of structured problem-solving and rigorous documentation.
Qualifications:
- Experience:
- 6–8+ years of experience in R&D, Hardware Engineering, or Systems Engineering, with a focus on troubleshooting complex mechatronic systems
- Proven track record of leading complex RCA investigations and making high-impact disposition decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Experience creating technical documentation intended for cross-functional audiences.
- Technical Expertise:
- Deep expertise in troubleshooting hardware-software intersections, including communication protocols (EtherCAT, CAN), PCBA signal integrity, and sensor integration.
- Mastery of diagnostic tools and instrumentation such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
- Proficiency in navigating logs via CLI and using data visualization tools (e.g., Python scripts) to identify failure trends.
- Skills:
- Ability to tackle highly ambiguous, unprecedented problems and create reusable, scalable solutions.
- Capacity to operate independently on large-scale initiatives and proactively anticipate the needs of the RCA team.
- Exceptional ability to synthesize complex technical data into clear, actionable insights for stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or a related field.
