About the Company
At Starling we're bringing the future of a proactive and predictive home based healthcare system to patients today.
In our vision, we will identify and predict chronic health exacerbations of patients earlier at home so we can activate preventive care measures in an non-emergent setting vastly improving outcomes and costs for the whole system.
Our team of serial entrepreneurs, engineers, and clinicians are building the next generation of medical products at the intersection of hardware, software, and artificial intelligence. We develop these next generation products to improve the lives of chronic care patients by passively monitoring changes in their urine over time with our AI and care team infrastructure.
Tech Stack
In the US, 80% of healthcare spend occurs in 20% of patients. We aim to drastically reduce this cost through modern software, hardware, and preventative care services. Our core device, the UrinDx, combines continuous urinary diagnostics and machine-learning trained on identifying health exacerbations to allow patients to track changes in their health over time at home by monitoring changes in their urine over time. All without having to change anything about their daily bathroom routine. Its core connected software product is a platform to help doctors monitor the health of their patients through tracking changes in key compositional changes in the urine of such patients, so that physicians and patients can stay aligned without direct interaction. In review of this data on a monthly basis by our nursing staff, our remote patient monitoring platform generates repeatable recurring revenues per patient on our platform for Starling and for our physician partners. If our Starling care team and AI algorithms identify significant issues with the patient, we can then triage them to a PCP or to their urologists for a higher acuity investigation. In this process, we expect to significantly improve the patient and physician experience while greatly driving down chronic management costs through hospitalization reductions.
Founders
My experience within both the hospital and industry setting has developed my interest in emphasising the user-centered and human factors design of medical technologies to ensure accessibility and usability in all areas around the world. My skills are broadly in problem definition, upstream product development, and implementation of medical technologies (device and digital health) in the clinical setting. I am focused on ensuring Starling prioritises the user experience throughout our growth.
