AI Data Operations Lead

Figure is an AI robotics company developing autonomous general-purpose humanoid robots. The goal of the company is to ship humanoid robots with human-level intelligence. Our robots are engineered to perform a variety of tasks in the home and commercial markets. Figure is headquartered in San Jose, CA and require 5 days/week in-office collaboration. It’s time to build.

We are looking for a highly driven AI Data Operations Lead to own end-to-end data collection. You will be the single point of accountability for hitting the volume, quality, and velocity targets for a specific category of human data — responsible for everything from sourcing and onboarding contributors to managing the daily operations that keep your pipeline running.

Responsibilities:

You will own a dedicated data collection category from day one. This means setting and hitting weekly and monthly data volume targets, managing every operational lever within your workstream, and escalating blockers fast. Specific responsibilities include:

• Driving user acquisition, activation, and retention through creative growth tactics and operational rigor
• Identifying and launching in new geographies, managing localization, partnerships, and community building to establish presence in target regions
• Building and continuously improving the operational infrastructure for contributor recruitment, onboarding, daily session management, quality assurance, and incentive management within your assigned category
• Owning your category’s data dashboard — tracking volume, quality, and throughput metrics daily, identifying bottlenecks, and shipping operational fixes fast
• Sourcing, negotiating, and managing relationships with local partners, agencies, and vendors to accelerate growth
• Serving as the connective tissue between your contributors and internal teams — surfacing hardware/software friction, translating field feedback into actionable product improvements, and advocating for your workstream’s needs
• Developing programs that build loyalty and engagement among contributors

Requirements:

• 2+ years in investment banking, management consulting, growth roles, or startup operations at a high-growth company
• Comfortable rapidly building and deploying apps/agents using AI coding tools (zero technical academic background necessary)
• Demonstrated ability to own outcomes — not just activities — in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. You’ve held a number and missed sleep over it.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience working across cultures or in international markets
• Highly organized with strong project management instincts — comfortable managing multiple contributors, sessions, or sites simultaneously and keeping all plates spinning
• A commitment to 5 days/week in-office collaboration

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience scaling consumer mobile applications or marketplace platforms
• Background in AI/ML companies or understanding of data collection for machine learning
• Prior experience in emerging markets or with distributed workforces
• Fluency in additional languages
• Experience managing physical-world operations (events, field crews, hardware logistics) in addition to digital platforms

The US base salary range for this full-time position is between $175,000 - $200,000 annually.

The pay offered for this position may vary based on several individual factors, including job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package may also include additional components/benefits depending on the specific role. This information will be shared if an employment offer is extended.
