
Senior Production Supervisor
Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Production Supervisor who will join the Operations leadership team to drive the manufacturing of our Stretch and Off-Robot Systems (ORS) product lines. You will oversee a team of 10–15 employees in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, delivering high-quality products that directly support the company’s strategic growth. You will be accountable for business-critical production outcomes that directly influence OKRs tied to revenue, customer satisfaction, and company-wide bonus structures.
This role requires not just execution but ownership of schedules, cost, and throughput performance at a factory-wide level, continuous improvement leadership, and proactive cross-functional communication. Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop a production team to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production goals.
Build a culture of accountability, recognition, and continuous improvement.
Own the development, maintenance, and implementation of skills matrices and training plans for the team, ensuring every technician has a clear path to competency and growth
Act as a leadership pipeline developer, preparing technicians and leads for promotion to meet the organization’s future staffing needs.
Safety Ownership
Own and sustain a zero-incident safety culture.
Lead safety initiatives, complete audits, and resolve safety issues proactively.
Ensure team adherence to all safety protocols, standards, and regulations through 6S initiatives.
Champion compliance readiness for external audits (TÜV, ISO, customer audits).
Daily Operations Management
Lead Tier 1 and Tier 2 daily production meetings to drive production flow and structured problem-solving.
Manage production flow, resource allocation, and execution against the production schedule for Stretch and ORS.
Work closely with Production Planners and Controllers to align material availability with production execution.
Ensure build plans are met for both standard products and high-visibility NPI deliveries.
Manage and communicate overtime requirements with advance notice, ensuring the team has clear expectations around schedule demands tied to production targets.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Fulfillment, Engineering, Quality, and Planning teams to meet production requirements.
Support NPI events by coordinating production integration activities without impact to operational flow.
Coordinate FAT execution, ensuring adherence to quality standards and correct process flows.
Serve as the operational point of contact for senior leadership during program reviews, ensuring production readiness aligns with revenue targets.
Cost and Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, including overhead reduction, yield improvement, and waste elimination.
Utilize lean manufacturing principles, including 6S, Kaizen events, and Theory of Constraints, to continuously improve production performance.
Track, monitor, and drive key metrics (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Engagement).
Lead factory-wide CI initiatives that impact multiple product lines, driving measurable ROI.
Systems and Data Accuracy
Ensure correct and timely ERP transactions, including work orders, inventory movement, and reporting.
Track time and attendance accurately for all team members.
Utilize Jira and Salesforce to manage and resolve operational issues.
Maintain data integrity in ERP/MES systems, directly supporting financial accuracy and compliance.
Desired Skills and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience required.
4–6 years of experience in Manufacturing Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Proven ability to lead technician-level employees in a production environment.
Practical experience with lean manufacturing methodologies and/or Six Sigma practices.
Working knowledge of daily management systems, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement tools.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP/MES systems.
Ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Demonstrated ability to manage production environments where performance directly impacts company financials and customer commitments.
Key Success Metrics
Achieve 100% on-time production delivery vs. SIOP plan.
Maintain safety incident rate at zero (or show YOY improvement).
Sustain team engagement and retention levels above company baseline.
Deliver year-over-year improvements in cost, quality, and throughput.
Demonstrate measurable financial impact through cost savings, waste reduction, and efficiency gains.

The pay range for this position is between $42.81 - 52.88 per hour. Base pay will depend on multiple individualized factors including, but not limited to internal equity, job related knowledge, skills and experience. This range represents a good faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Boston Dynamics offers a generous Benefits package including medical, dental vision, 401(k), paid time off and a annual bonus structure.
