About the Role

As a Buyer II, you will independently manage procurement execution across assigned suppliers and commodities while ensuring material availability to support engineering builds and production. You will serve as the primary point of contact for supplier execution activities and proactively manage delivery performance, shortages, and supply continuity.

This role will primarily support electronics commodities including custom printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), cable harnesses, sensors, connectors, and related electronic assemblies. You will work closely with Global Supply Managers (GSMs), Planning, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Finance to ensure procurement activities are executed effectively and supplier commitments align with business needs.

This role requires strong procurement execution skills, supplier management experience, and the ability to independently manage procurement priorities and supplier performance in a fast-paced hardware environment.

About the Work

  • Manage all purchase order activity for assigned suppliers, including creation, revisions, confirmations, and delivery management.
  • Own supplier communications related to delivery schedules, shortages, push-in/push-out requests, engineering changes, and recovery plans.
  • Monitor supplier performance and proactively identify supply risks before they impact engineering builds or production schedules.
  • Maintain ERP/MRP data accuracy including pricing, lead times, supplier records, order status, sourcing information, and procurement parameters.
  • Support request for quotation (RFQ) activities and supplier quote analysis to assist Global Supply Managers (GSMs) with sourcing decisions and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Drive tactical cost savings through supplier engagement, quote comparisons, pricing analysis, and identification of commercial opportunities.
  • Coordinate material readiness for prototype, engineering validation, and production builds.
  • Partner with Planning and Manufacturing teams to resolve shortages and material availability issues.
  • Track long-lead materials and work closely with suppliers to ensure supply continuity and schedule alignment.
  • Support supplier onboarding activities and ensure suppliers meet procurement process requirements.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies, shipment issues, receiving concerns, and supplier-related execution challenges.
  • Provide timely updates to cross-functional teams regarding supplier commitments, shortages, material availability, and delivery risks.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) activities through proactive procurement planning and supplier coordination.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or practical equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of purchasing experience in hardware, manufacturing, robotics, automotive, aerospace, or similar environments.
  • Experience purchasing custom printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs), cable harnesses, sensors, connectors, or other electronic components and assemblies strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers and contract manufacturers preferred.
  • Strong understanding of procurement execution, supplier delivery management, and material planning processes.
  • Experience supporting prototype, NPI, and production build activities.
  • Strong command of ERP/MRP systems (Windchill, MISys, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, etc.).
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to independently manage suppliers, competing priorities, and aggressive timelines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with suppliers and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • High sense of urgency, accountability, and follow-through in a fast



Location

  • This is a hybrid position based out of our Fremont office.

The final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to: job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Agility Robotics is a multi-state employer and this salary range may not reflect positions who work in other locations. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Anticipated Base Salary Range
$81,000$104,000 USD
