About the Role & Team
We are seeking hands-on Spacecraft Hardware Technicians to support the build, integration, testing, and troubleshooting of spacecraft subassemblies and flight hardware. You will be a key contributor within the Structures and Mechanisms group and collaborate closely with Electrical and Integration & Test (I&T) teams. This position is designed for both entry-level candidates who are eager to develop their technical skills and experienced technicians ready to lead complex builds and mentor others.
As our manufacturing operations expand in Colorado, technicians will have opportunities to support spacecraft from initial build through final integration, and to shape manufacturing standards and processes as we scale production.

Role Responsibilities
- Perform assembly operations which may include parts/materials preparation, mechanical/electrical assembly, staking, torqueing and lift/moving operations.
- Knowledge of mechanical assembly, tuning/troubleshoot assemblies, alignment checks, perform calibration and part modification as directed.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, written or verbal instructions.
- Maintain electronic and paper documentation- build, inventory, reports, etc. in accordance with company policy.
- Provide test support ranging from build/test fixtures, small components, sub-assemblies to entire spacecraft.
- Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Qualifications
Required
- High School diploma, plus 2 years or more related experience.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand tools and small assemblies.
- Familiarity with mechanical/electronic assemblies, cabling, and equipment maintenance.
- Ability to function effectively in a team environment and collaborate across departments.
- Basic math and general computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
- To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Capella Employees must be a U.S. citizen, lawful U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum, or be eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State and/or the U.S. Department of Commerce, as applicable. Desired
- Experience with composite components and precision mechanical assemblies.
- Familiarity with MES platforms and electronic documentation practices.
- Knowledge of metrology systems such as Romer Arm or other CMM tools.
- J-Standard Certification: IPC/WHMA-A-620.
- Experience with cleanroom practices, torque tools, and hardware integration in a flight environment.
- Background in high-reliability manufacturing environments
Compensation
We are hiring multiple engineers across varying levels of experience. The annual salary range for this role is $55,000 - $72,800 The final job level and annual salary will be determined based on the education, qualification, knowledge, skills, ability, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location and calibrated against relevant market data and internal team equity.
