Job Description
About Venn
Venn is the fastest-growing B2B fintech in Canada. We're on a mission to transform business banking for Canadian entrepreneurs and are looking to hire A-players interested in disrupting traditional banking practices. As the ONLY digital banking platform in Canada offering a truly modern solution, we have seen accelerated growth—scaling to support more than 10,000 Canadian businesses in under two years. Business owners are tired of the big banks' monopoly and are looking for modern tools that replace the legacy systems that have been their only option for over 100 years.
We've raised a $26.5m Series A from Tier 1 investors, and we're rapidly growing and looking for a GTM Engineer to build the outbound engine that drives our next phase of growth and changes the future of banking in Canada. You'll start by building the sales engine, and grow into owning the systems that power our full go-to-market motion across sales, marketing, and customer success.
About This Role
As Venn enters its next phase of growth, we’re looking for a GTM Engineer to help build the outbound engine that supports our sales team today and our broader go-to-market motion over time.
You’ll work closely with sales and technology teams to develop the systems, data, and workflows that help us identify, prioritize, and engage the right businesses. This role will start with building the infrastructure that supports our sales team.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building practical processes, testing new approaches, and improving how teams work. There isn’t a fully established playbook in place yet, so you’ll have the opportunity to help shape what effective outbound looks like at Venn as we continue scaling across Canada.
What You'll Be Doing
Build the email sequences, triggers, and personalization workflows in HubSpot that give our BDR team a repeatable outbound motion.
Standard databases fall short for Canadian SMBs — you'll identify unconventional sources (provincial registries, trade associations, public filings, web scraping), build enrichment pipelines, and create a continuously refreshed account list that fuels the phone channel.
Design and deploy a signal-based engine that detects buying intent and turns those signals into triggered plays for the BDR team.
Build the infrastructure that lets a small team outperform a much larger one: prioritized account queues, auto-generated account briefs, and personalized outreach drafts inside the BDR workflow.
Own HubSpot end to end — object model, lifecycle, routing, and reporting.
Use AI wherever it makes a rep faster or a play better, and build the frameworks to know when it's actually working.
What You'll Need
You've built outbound motions before at a B2B company including sequences, triggers, personalization workflows and you can point to the pipeline they produced.
You've built custom data pipelines. Scraping, cleaning, deduplication, enrichment — and you can do it without an engineering team behind you. When Clay can't solve it, you go get the data yourself.
Technical enough to do the work yourself. You can model data, write queries, call APIs, and wire integrations.
You think in systems and signals. When something breaks, you fix the root cause. When something works, you figure out why and scale it.
You think commercially. You can talk to a BDR about an account as easily as you can talk to a data engineer about a schema.
You ship. You'd rather get a v1 in production this week than design the perfect system for three months.
Bonus points:
Experience as the first GTM or RevOps hire at an early-stage startup.
Familiarity with Canadian business data sources — and the gaps in coverage from standard vendors.
Experience selling into or building tooling for SMBs, fintech, or financial services.
Built AI agents or LLM-powered workflows in production.
