Vantor is seeking a Software Engineer to work in an agile and fast paced customer environment supporting users whose mission is to solve unique and challenging problems for Special Operations. The selected candidate will be part of a small multi-disciplinary cyber team and have the unique opportunity to interact directly with users and other technologists to ensure development and tools meet the needs of the customer. The selected candidate will be responsible for working at all levels of the stack from virtualization up through services and orchestration.
Location: This position is 100% onsite with the customer in Annapolis Junction, MD
Highlights of Responsibilities:
Providing an environment to support rapid development and deployment.
Designing, implementing, operating, and maintaining a full suite of local and cloud-based services.
Administration and troubleshooting of private clouds, automating infrastructure and software deployment, and general system and network administration activities.
Supporting an "all-hands on deck" approach at times because of the fast-paced and small nature of the team, which may include some scripting using Python or Bash.
Minimum Requirements:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with current/active TS/SCI security clearance
5 years of experience in data engineering
Experience with managing virtualization platforms (Vsphere)
Experience with Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP)
Experience in development using Python
Experience with shell scripting, such as bash programming or PowerShell programming
Must be able to work onsite at the customer site in Annapolis Junction
Preferred Skills:
2 years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Network Administrator
Experience with Linux system administration
Experience with software engineering tools (Git)
Experience with SIEM data normalization
Experience with data visualization dashboard creation (ELK)
Experience with cloud services (AWS)
Experience with Infrastructure As Code (IAC) tooling (Ansible and Terraform)
Demonstrated analytic and problem-solving skills

Pay Transparency: To support pay transparency, Vantor includes salary ranges in all U.S. job postings. Starting pay for this role will fall within the listed range and will be based on factors such as experience, qualifications, skills, location, and market conditions. Candidates who meet the minimum requirements for the role should not expect to receive compensation at the top of the range. The listed range reflects the expected pay for this position, and final offers will be determined based on each candidate’s experience, expertise, and alignment with the role.
● The base pay for this position within the Washington, DC metropolitan area is: $137,000.00 - $182,000.00 - $200,200.00 annually.
For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
