Payroll Specialist

The Payroll Specialist will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll operations and contribute to continuous process improvements and system upgrades.

You will:

• Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll for 1,000+ multi-state employees, ensuring accuracy in wages, benefits, taxes, and deductions.

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws.

• Review and audit payroll reports for accuracy and resolve discrepancies.

• Support quarterly and year-end payroll activities including W-2s and tax filings.

• Handle the processing of wage garnishments and remittances.

• Provides timely employee support by responding within 24 hours to incoming Payroll or JIRA tickets.

• Partners with ADP Tax Team to ensure proper set up of new local tax locations within the payroll system.

• Assist with quarterly and annual audits, including Workers Comp, 401k and annual corporate audit.

• Serves as the Payroll point of contact in the absence of the Payroll Manager.

You have:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

• 2-3+ years of payroll experience, administering payroll in a multi-state environment. Puerto Rico payroll experience is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations, including tax and reporting requirements.

• Experience with payroll systems (e.g. ADP Workforce Now, Workday or similar).

• Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (XLOOKUP’s, Pivot Tables, etc.)

• CPP certification is a plus
